The assistant advice makes no sense, he'll tell you to play with a high line of defence, but then the scout report will advise you push your line back because the pace of the attacks. Thats just an example of how it cancels itself out. I ignore all advice except OP instrutions pre game.

I tried this with my Mallorca save and after the first 2 seasons Im in the champions cup and everything is good, however i have never beaten Real Madrid or Barca so i played Madrid and did what the assistant said, result Real 8 - 1 Mallorca!!!!!! then i play Barca with my tactics and we win 3-2 at the Nou Camp!!!

I tend to listen to the assistant manager but I find my self losing if I set opposition instructions on. So I tried turning them off for a while and I started getting all these insane results, I went on a 10 game winning streak scoring 3+ goals per game.

Assistant managers are have only two purposes .... to help train the team and remove unrealistic targets when searching.
Not really a fan of OI....takes too long with limited payoff

I listen to mine sometimes if i'm doing ****/or i'm a **** side and about to play somebody good. Think it's also down to how good the assistant is stats wise & how well he knows your team and who you're playing.

If i'm a sort of rubbish side & about to play a good team, i tend to play more defensive with ball winning midfielders, defensive back line & just try to catch them on the counter or just try and hold out for a draw.

I have two tactics that are very similar, a counter tactic to play against the big teams and for some teams who are always going to attack, and then a more attacking version of the same tactic...I use the Classic Tactic Creator, use OI's.

i like to use the players morales tab during games this tells u if someone is playing nervously or good if they are nervous i say to them at half time no pressure and it fires them up instantly good to watch out for this doesnt always work tho works well with players with good brains

I also like to play the 5 x 5 theory 5 to attack 5 to defend but with my 5 attackers like centre mid att left wing right wing and both strikers every single game without fail i tell the front 5 i expect a performance

Im pretty sure in the 1st season the assistants always agree with each other on tactics, now in my 2nd season they never agree :/

Nope, never do it.
They should change their tactics for me ;)

I use him to set my opposition instructions and just tweak up the instructions on a few players. e.g id put go in hard on drogba or rooney cause i dnt like them. lol. bt i always use him for my opposition instructions. sometimes even for team talks. i will jus tweak up a few on whom i need specific instructions for and who i dnt. however i dnt usually follow backroom advice

i don't take notice of pre-match meetings etc,and dont change formation due to opposition.
i sometimes use touchline shouts for example against top teams i use get stuck in and hassle opponents, this seems to have good effects the majority of times, especially against teams with creative midfield's.

I only use assistant to tell me who is nervous / complacent so i can focus team talks on them. The guide that has been linked is awesome.
