It wouldn't be bad at all. 5 times that amount are posting most the time and the site was still coping at 1050 members online at once. People aren't going to post in it any more frequently than another thread. It would in fact stop excess normal threads being made in the main forum.
 
I personally think it is a decent idea.

I guess you could even have seperate chatbox's too,if it'll be that big...
 
It's not going to happen. It can't be regulated so will simply lead to spam and loads of people asking for cracks/serial numbers.
 
Maybe an idea would be if 5 people mark a post as spam it can be hidden/deleted like on youtube
 
It would be a heck of a lot easier to keep everything as it is. If Sean thought it was better for the site I'm sure he'd do it, hence why he is saying no.
 
If members want to chat then become Facebook or MSN buddys,then you can chat to your hearts content.FM-Base is not a school kids chat room,thank god.

How comes your so desperate for a chatbox but noones ever on the irc
