Cheap or free lower league players??????? Help???????

I am AFC WIMBLEDON got an ok team 1st in BSS after 21 games but played a few BSP teams in cups and friendlies and lost heavily so when i get promoted which hopefully will happen i wont do very well there.

any tips
 
buy simon thomas from crystal palace 20 goals 21 played ;D i got him for 7k
