Confirmed by FC Twente in the above link, Newcastle will complete the signing of 24 year old Ivorian defensive midfielder Cheick Tioté subject to a medical.

Tioté represented Ivory Coast at the world cup, and was the player who injured Elano, and apparently taught Fabiano to fly

Decent signing imo, despite us already having a good number of central midfielders, a bit of youth and competition is welcome, although if Mike Ashley is willing to stump up around £3m for him, makes you wonder what's going on with Ben Arfa..

He injured Elano? :O No wonder they signed him...

I'd rather have Elano, just for freekicks like this [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZ3eCh7wft8&feature=search"]YouTube- Elano Free Kick vs Newcastle HQ[/ame]

great goal. should be a decent signing. plus hes young enough to sell on if hes not so good

I asked on an FC Twente forum how he plays, apparently he's one of the best players in Holland.

I hope he's a good player, because by accident, I tipped Newcastle to finish 7th XD

Looks decent. Still, need someone that can score goals or assist Carroll in scoring.

Looks average enough, may be one of the best in Holland but England and Holland are poles apart in terms of League,Weather

See this is why I find it funny when everyone lables us deluded, when its fans of other clubs that expect us to be in the top half, while the actually Newcastle fans are more realistic, knowing that we will have a hard season and struggle to stay in the division.

Jesus christ.

Englands league is alot better than everyone elses bar Spain and Italy. Players still come from different countries and do very well in Premier Divison.

This.

|He is a good player, Steve Maclaren spoke highly of him, saying he trains hard and worls hard. Properly no more then a squad player competng with barton for a place.

What about Fulham finishing 7th?

I wouldn't say there squad is that much better than ours.
