Chelsea were far from impressive. Mourinho was quoted as saying that Chelsea struggled because Newcastle had an extra days rest and defended throughout. Newcastle's most difficult moments in the first half were actually being caught on the counter! And as for the extra days rest, Newcastle had 14 first team players missing. Going away to Stamford Bridge on three days rest could not have come at a worst time for them and they deserved a draw.
