AFC Bournemouth announce the appointment of relative unknown to take their club to the top!

I always start out with my local team when I get a new football manager game and as they have got to the championship for the first time in 20+ years I figured I would give it another go and share the success or failures with you good people.

I love to develop youth players and I will try to stick to a British core of the team.

Pretty well rounded squad, lacking in depth in CM position so that will be where I look to strengthen. GK is a bit weak but in time he should become a good Prem Keeper so I might stick with him unless I can find someone better with the limited finances I have.

Vasilis Pilatsikas:
Only one signing on a Free Transfer and should go straight into the team. 6.5k a week is more than anyone else at the squad so I hope he proves his worth.

First update to follow.

2 wins, 2 draws and a loss was more than I expected from these games. The game against Watford could have gone either way but I went for the win and it back fired. Lesson learnt!

Out of the Carling cup already but I didn't expect much against West Brom.

League Table:
View attachment 439830I'm very happy with 7th place so far as the plan for this season is to stay in the division, any more than that is a bonus.

September update coming soon.

September:

Lets get the bad news out the way first.....
View attachment 439799Surman is out for up to 4 months which is a terrible blow for us. He had produced 2 goals and 3 assists for us so far and would have been a key player.

However there is some good news on the transfer front:
Keith Fahey

Another freebie I picked up for the CM role and after Surman's Injury it has proven a very useful bit of business. Hopefully he can continue where he left off.

2 Wins and 2 Draws, not bad, even though I was hoping for atleast a draw against a Blackpool team struggling for form.

October wasn't a great month for us but we more than made up for it in November, especially with the win over Brighton who are riding high in 2nd place.

7th place again which is so much higher than expected which is probably the reason for this.....

NEW CONTRACT!! brilliant! didn't even try and negotiate wages as I'm here for the long run...well hopefully :P

I have potentially up to 800k to spend on a new signing. can anyone recommend a good wonderkid I could get for this money when the transfer window opens? or is there no chance?

Do you live in Poole harbour on a boat by the looks of your picture haha

This is a great start mate, sitting pretty just outside the play offs! Surmam being out for 3-4 months is gutting though, he's a top player...

Luckily Surman is back now but his stats look like they have dropped which is not good.

Great results in December, almost unbeaten but Ipswich were just too good for us. Most of these results were down to luck and us countering but wins are wins.

In the play offs! Fantastic. We were as high as 4th at one stage.

I'm hoping to strengthen in the transfer window but without much budget it is going to be very difficult, but I will update with any news of incoming players.

I'm nearer poole to be honest but it's close enough

I also live in Bournemouth/Poole, and was recently made head researcher for SI for Poole Town so hopefully in the next update the team will be more up to date and with the expansion update for southern league will be able to play as Poole.

Anyway, Keith Fahey is a good signing, easily able to fill the gap left by Surmans injury. good luck with this.

Transfers:

Dedryck Boyata

Bought for 150k, bargain. should slot nicely into my defence and progress onto a good premiership player.

I only managed one transfer this window but managed to get rid of a few of the deadwood to reduce the wage bill.

Results to follow...

That sounds good. I've been wanting to play as the Dolphins for a while now. I may add them to the Skrill south and try the youth challenge with them for my next story!

Terrible start to the month. was worried that the losing streak was going to continue for a long time as this is a very hard division and we are punching above our weight at the moment. A brilliant win away at Charlton should give us a nice bit of confidence going into the final few months.

Still up there but many teams close behind us who would love us to slip up.

Much better results this month, couple of wins to get us back on track. Very proud to get a draw at Derby who are on a very good run at the moment.

Table:
View attachment 439417still just outside the playoffs but we will keep going to the end.

Do you think we can make the playoffs?

Youth Intake:

View attachment 439401Pretty pleased with the youth intake. one very promising players but other than that they were pretty average

Most Promising:
Lyndon Bluck

Hopefully I can get him some game time and get him progressing to his potential.

great results again to keep promotion hopes alive. I have never been good at play offs so if we get there I'm gunna have everything crossed.

View attachment 4393775th place. still lots of teams close behind us but I'm quietly confident we can do this.

Final Matches:

View attachment 439073Some great results in April and May but was it good enough to get into the play off places with couple of teams only a point behind us last time....

WE DID IT!

Made it to the play offs, could not have imagined this much success when I first took them over. I will update soon with the play offs and hopefully some good news.

Play offs:

Semi-Final 1st leg.
Cherries
2-0 Brighton
View attachment 439070Brilliant home win, Brighton have been on a bit of a losing streak so we were very confident going into this one, once we were 2 up I had the players sit back and absorb the pressure. Half way to the final!

I decided to give Brighton's manager a bit of stick after that much just to rub it in.
View attachment 439066(He wasn't happy with this haha)

Semi-Final 2nd leg:
Brighton 2-1 Cherries
View attachment 439069
Wembley here we come. Much more resistance from the home side in this game and was looking a bit nervy towards the end but we held strong and got our reward.

Final to follow!
