First of all, my apologise for the many tactic threads from my side. I don't know who the moderator of this Forum is, sorry for that, but I want to ask you if you could delete the Modern Play and 4231 Fire. All of these tactics will be settled in this thread. The reason for that is writed below!
I won't be open any new tactic thread when I am unleashing a 433 or 4231 tactic.

Latest progress in this thread:
04/04/2015 - Added all of my tactics in this thread.
I made a three set tactics set for all kinds of clubs in any competition. A bit of Football Manager knowledge will be good to implement the tactic in a good way, but if you don't have that I will try to put everything you need to know in this thread. The tactic set is tested by Crystal Palace, predicted to finish at one of the last places in the Barclays Premier League. I will update the thread with new tactics as soon as I improved the latest version for one of the tactics below.
Well, let's talk about the tactics. In my first season with Palace I wanted just one thing: ended up at first place. I know that is possible if you have a good tactic and tweak at the right moments. I began with a created three strikers tactic, that one from the Modern Play thread. I tweaked it to some two other formations to be less predictable for my opponents. Since then, I had a 3 strikers tactic, a 4231 tactic (yes, the 4231 Fire thread) and a 433 with two wide players on the flanks.
I didn't test the tactics with a tactic testing league, but played a full season with manually. I didn't make any transfer to see how good the tactic could be without any signing. As said, I started with a sort of basic tactic and develop the tactic till februari. Since that month I was very happy with the tactics and could you just play without tweaking before every match. Below you can find the results of my first season with Crystal Palace.

A pretty easy season as you can see. I managed to end up first and to win the English FA Cup. At the beginning of the season we were knocked out the Capital One Cup by Peterborough United, what a shame. But that was just with one of the first versions of the tactics and a sort of second squad. Below you can find screenshots of my squad and the transfer history.

Guess you're a bit curious about the tactics now. Well, as said I used three types of formations. I most of the time make a tactic with a control mentality. I am not that good in creating counter tactics but I do have a lot of experience with a controlling mentality. We also play very fluid to make sure all players attack and all players do something for my defense.

Tactical tips.
Please people, have a read up here to make sure you know how the deal in some situations and don't ask me some dumb questions. There is no such thing as the-best-tactic. I advice you to download all three tactics and put them all in your tactic slots.
Team- and individual training
Team training isn't that special. Just pick the team training you're comfortable with or just look at your schedule. For example, set defensive positioning before though matches. Make sure you give your players a lot of rest, because you need to have a fit squad before starting a match. Train your players individual to the roles they play in the tactic.
D-line play (important!)
Yes, in all of these tactics you need to have a look at your D-line play. If you know how to use this perfectly, you will win much more matches. It is really simple if you know how to use it and if you dare to tweak in-match. All tactics have a 'push higher up' setting at team instructions. This is good when you play against teams who play short combinationfootball. But sometimes you face opponenets who play fast direct-football, this means you will come to late when pressing a lot, or play a long-ball football tactic. This means you will press high up field and got a lot of space in the back of your central defenders. If you want to be less harmfull you need to set the 'drop deeper' instruction at team instruction. You can easy set it on your own and tweak it in-match, players don't need to train at that instruction and your tactic will be 100% fluid.
How to know what type of D-line play
There are several ways to see which defensive line you need to play with. The first one is just starting the match and see how the opponents is playing. You can easily tweak it in-match. The second one is go to the scouting report in your inbox and look at the field image on your right. This field, the green side, shows how the opponents gives their assists this season. If you see they have a lot of assists from the middle of the field you know you need to 'drop deeper'. The third method to see which D-line you need to select is to go to opponent, select team reports, senior squad and then 'summary'. That summary shows their 'most common assist type' and below you can click on 'manager'. This shows what the most common playing style of the manager is. This all will give you good information of which defensive line to play with.
Standard situations and opposition instructions
You can add your own standard situations exploits if you want. For example, you can train your backs to 'throw long balls' if you want some more goals by throw-ins. If you want the corner exploit you can set your backs to take corners. I didn't use any opposition instructions, but if you want you can chose the anti-cross OI's from TFF.
Defensive tweaks (hold the lead)
If you need to hold the lead you can add your own tweaks or use my tips. When I need to hold the lead I change duties from backs and/or midfielders and/or wingers to support or defense and I sometimes change the mentality to counter. I also use a lot of team talks, encourage or concentrate, to inspire the team and let them hold the lead or motivate them in other situations.
Great input that can also work for you!

Update: Thank god, I managed to get from europa league places to 2nd with 9 points loss at Man City, but with 2 extra games to play. Also knocked out a powerful Juventus side out from the first knockout Champ League phase. I tweaked the tactic just a little, as I select "lower tempo" instead of "higher tempo" for the 4-3-3 (now it keeps more possession and tends to be a lot better against heavy teams, whilst having a similiar amount of shots and chances) and selecting a BWM-D instead of the defensive midfielder. As for the 4-2-3-1, which is also brutal, I also select a BWM-D instead of CM-D. I feel this single change gives both tactics more defensive stability and I concede less goals, but that might be just me
Feel that this tactic is a gem (and surely can get better), mainly for people who love football so much that they don't want to play engine-exploiting nonsense formations as found on this forum. (no offense)
For CE: If I may suggest, I would try to look for some additional tweaking for the left winger and striker roles in the next versions, think both could be more effective.

Losses at ManCity + United were partly because of an injury crisis in my team, i also didn't really have wingers and tactic was nowhere to fluid
EDIT: Also please note that I was playing with Cleverley
