'Classic' Tactics

Can anyone explain why some tactics on the boards are set up in classic mode and what this is?

I see a lot of tactics that i download have a 'C' beside their title when i go to load them into my game and they are un-editable.
There are nice tactics that id like to use but i also want to be able to tweak them but all options for changes are greyed out.

Or am i missing something really obvious?

They can be tweaked. Classic tactic settings are from older FM games.

maybe I'm asking the wrong question then.
I recently downloaded Sumthin's 4-2-3-1 tactics and while i can adjust individual settings, the Philiosophy and Strategy drop down menus are greyed out and stuck on Fluid and Attacking so I cant change them. And during a match i cant change them to suit how the game is going and i have no Shout options available. So its I'm stuck with the same philosophy/strategy throughout the whole match.

In classic mode, no strategis or shouts can be changed, so yes you are stuck unless you manually change all sliders
