Cloud Saving

Could anyone explain to me exactly what it is and how it works. Does it protect your save file against crash dumps and other errors?
When saving a game I see the normal option to save, then next to it an option to save on cloud.

Thanks, That page answers most of my questions.

I still can't find any info on weather your file is protected against crash dumps and other load errors :S.

Not sure what you mean by protected. It's not like cloud saving makes the save game immune against errors, it just gives you easy access to the save game wherever you are.
