Well we won the 1st leg but I wish we took advantage of our chances. The return leg will be a very tough match as we will play in front of their hostile fans.

April was a great month as we 6 of the 8 matches. We finished the final 2 Campeonato Mineiro matches with 2 big wins, won the semifinals against America and have a 1 goal lead against Cruzeiro. We finished 1st in the group stage for Copa Libertadores and are ready to face Estudiantes.

Great win today! After being nervous about the last time we faced them, our squad played very good. Elkeson played very well today by scoring 2 goals. Unfortunately, Marcos Rocha injured himself during the game and will miss some time.
Lucas Pratto got Atletico Mineiro on the scoresheet with an accurate finish from inside the penalty area. Jesus Datolo double the lead in the 20th minute after taking advantage of Ezequiel Videla error and scored from inside the box. Ezequiel Cerutti scored on a penalty shot after Marcos Rocha gave it away. Marcos Rocha had to leave the game just after giving away the penalty for injuring himself during the challenge. Elkeson scored in the 72nd minute with a well struck effort. 3 minutes later, Elkeson scored his 2nd goal of the night with a fierce shot.
Next game will be against Cruzeiro for the 2nd leg of Campeonato Mineiro finals.

Today is the day, the 2nd leg of the Campeonato Mineiro Finals. Its the Classico Mineiro between Cruzeiro Esporte Clube and Clube Atlético Mineiro.

Today match will be the Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto or famously known as Mineirão and it will feature a majority of the Raposa fans. Last match, Atletico Mineiro won 1-0 after a goal by Sherman Cardenas. Today, Atletico only needs a draw of to win their 3rd consecutive Campeonato Mineiro title. Cruzeiro need a 1-0 win or win by 1 goal as Cruzeiro has the draw advantage as there is no away goals, extra time and penalties.

Our squad features a mix of the first 11 eleven and my backups. Alex Silva is replacing Marcos Rocha due to injury and Leonardo Silva will replace Jemerson after he was suspended with 3 yellows. We will have to focus on Adrian Ramos as he has a scoring record against us. Dede will be leading their defensive core and we need to pressure him to make a mistake. Long time Cruzeiro Keeper Fabio will on his toes today.

We acquired leftback Natanael today, I wasn't completely happy with my leftback as Junior Cesar, while he a great player, is starting to drop on form and Walter Clar and Cesar are not ready to start full time. Natanael will be Filipe Luis backup for the time being.

Club Atlético Boca Juniors, the Argentine club, is a 6 time Copa Libertadores champion with their last title in 2007. If you want to know how big Boca Juniors are: they are title with Real Madrid and AC Milan with the 2nd most international titles with 18. This will be the 2nd meeting between the 2 clubs, last being in 1978. The first leg will be played on May 24 at home.

Another year, another Brasileirão Serie A season. Last year, Atletico Mineiro won the title for the first time since 1971 with 91 points, 14 points in front of the runner up Sao Paulo with 77 points. This year, the media is predicting that Atletico Mineiro will retain their title followed by Corinthians, Sao Paulo, and Internacional. Another year, another Brasileirão Serie A season. Last year, Atletico Mineiro won the title for the first time since 1971 with 91 points, 14 points in front of the runner up Sao Paulo with 77 points. This year, the media is predicting that Atletico Mineiro will retain their title followed by Corinthians, Sao Paulo, and Internacional. Vasco, Bahia, Sport, and Parana will being joining Serie A this year.

This is our fixtures of this year's competition. Our goal of this year is obviously to win the Brasileirão but my top priority right is Copa Libertadores so of the 1st couple of matches, I will be rotating my squad until we win or get eliminated.

Big win against the recently promoted Bahia. The first game of the season will always be the hardest but my squad were calm and the result shows it.
Marion scored just before the half with a nice effort from 10 metres after taking advantage of Luan error. Lucas Candido also took advantage of another Bahia error to score from close range. Tabata capped off the rout with a fluke goal where he meant to cross it to Carlos but the ball went in.
Next game will be against another recently promoted club, Vasco, at home.

If you thought last game was a dominating game, today match was a huge win especially against a 4-time winner Vasco. The match got even easier after the red card to the Vasco player. Ramires and Felipe had 2 goals each.
Ramires started the scoring with just 4 minutes into the game after an accurate finish. Ramires scored his 2nd of the night 5 minutes later when he scored an incisive finish from 15 metres. Maicosuel made it 3-0 after taking advantage of Walace to shoot a well executed shot that also hit the post before it went in. Felipe scored to make it 4-0 in the 28th minute by scoring from 11 metres. Rithely received his 2nd yellow after tackling Datolo and was sent off. Felipe completed the rout when he scored his 2nd when he header from inside the six-yard box.
