I know it, but it takes too much time and attention do to it at the same time. On my opinion its wrong do be club manager and at the same time National manager. Well when you are perfect tactician great scout, brilliantly knowing ur players and so one, then u might even succeed, but on all the other cases u fail !

What a great story! I'm trying to do something like this with Dover, so a little less extreme. I'm in the play of places of the BSP with about 10 games to go in the third season.

I started off with Macclesfield Town yesterday evening in the right frame of mind, thinking "if this dude can get Cockfosters to the EPL title, then surely I can get Mac Town there too." Apparently, I was wrong to think this. The standard was reet terrible, there were so many injuries, and the finances were so tight. I lost to Northampton, lost to Blackpool in the league cup, drew 0-0 with Notts County then gave up and went for a wank.
So yeah. Big kudos for this.

Yeah man, but you obviously have the drive to get a crappy team and make them the biggest club in the world within 20-odd seasons - if my team doesn't do something of note in the first season I'm in charge, I just get a bit annoyed. For instance, if I finished 12th with Mac Town, that'd be a pretty good season in fairness, because they are reet **** and their media prediction is 23rd. But I'd see it as a waste of time, because there's no actual reward for that. It does give you a solid foundation to build on, but I couldn't care if my foundation was made of sand - I just want success! <) Still, I know its not gonna happen instantly, just gonna' have to be patient. The only problem I have is offloading rubbish players, because if other clubs don't come in for them and the cost of a contract termination is too high, they just **** around all season getting a decent little wage. I might start a little further up the league pyramid, maybe try Stockport or even look into the Championship.
Anyway, this thread aint about me. Well played mate, I look forward to the next chapter at some unknown club who I fully expect to be European champs within 15 years ^^)
