I am currently managing Southampton and just finished my first season where I finished 6th due to goal difference. However, I scored the 3rd most in the league (69) and conceded the 3rd most in the league (62), which made me lose out on 5th. My tactic is based on possession and I was wondering if anyone could help me concede less goals but keep on scoring as many as I am.

In addition, if anyone could advice me on any players to buy/sell that would be much appreciated. I have bought Ashley Cole for £270k to replace Bertrand as he is going back to Chelsea and they wanted £10mil for him which I wasn't prepared to pay.
Tactics and general team selection which was used for most of the season are attached.

I've just finished my first season on fm15 finishing second with blackburn ! I scored 93 goals with whom Jordan Rhodes scored 48 :) however I conceded 72 which is pretty shocking!! I'd say 90 percent of the goals I conceded were from crosses the other from corners and free kicks " no matter what I tryed to cut them out I failed so I can only say we might have to wait for a new patch before we can sort this out :(

It's happened to quite a few of my friends as well who are playing a similar tactic as well, and when I play defensive tactics I am still conceding a bit.

Do you have any recommendations for buying/selling players?

I had the same issue's conceding from crosses.

Few ways to sort it:

FB's to close down less and tackle harder.

You can also set them to Limited FB will close down less.

Try putting your wingers to support.

Play 3 CB's.

AI will adapt to your style so you have to monitor the matches more.

Hope this helps.
