as robbo said but with out the 'apparently'....they did reinvent british music....and seeing as he was like dual front man with Barat then shows what he's done!!
More influencial than your Tenacious D types...who have frankly don **** all for music apart from write funny lyrics!!

only time i saw Pete D speak was on Jonathan Ross and he seemed a normal person who just needed help. Before I just thought he was a junkie but with the right help through his addiction im sure that he would be a well-loved character.

I must have missed them (Libertines)/he 'reinvent' British music...thinking about it, the whole notion of a 'British style' of music seems bull...I'm not questioning the fact that they/he were popular, just don't see the big deal about them myself. Also that bit about Barat made no sense!
I didn't compare them to Tenacious D (who by the way are American, so as well as your ridiculous anti-american bias,thats a naff comparison because the libertines would obv have a bigger impact here),although the fact that they filled out the MEN arena shows they're doing something right. And if writing funny lyrics is what they wana do, the fair enough, thats their choice. Also, JB and KG aren't bad pretty good musicians either
Finally, in my opinion, there's nothing misunderstood about a crackhead who injects fans with heroin, or whatever it was. If he was a normal citizen he would be locked up, simple as. And last time I checked, living up to a reputation of being such a junkie isn't smart or clever when you have so many young fans.

I'll never rise to the Quo 3-chord jibes, Ive had them for over 20 years now and its just in one ear and out the other. If I could still be going strong after 40 years on 3 chords Id be as happy as a dog with 2 dicks anyway.
Pete Doherty openly promotes his drug use and any normal person would have been banged up by now. Squirting blood at a camera man? Definite inside time for your average bloke. Dont know if it was blood or not, but it was a kids trick. Just says something about his mentality. Or lack of it.
On one of my rare days off from work, my wife had This Morning on and Dohertys mom was on there promoting her book about 'My Peter'. She said that she didnt want the media attention just to tell people what a 'lovely boy he was'. So why go on NATIONAL ******* TELE and tell the nation about it then??
A little off subject I know, but it just goes to show that hes tolerated by even his closest family. If I was permanently smacked out my face I would have been disowned a long time ago.
As for him reinventing British music, that must be one of the rashest statements Ive heard.

I know anyone who argues for Pete Doherty is neva gona win because everyone just goes...druggie....and its true that the drug stuff is a bit stupid especially openly in front of press and ****!!....but i guess thats why i like him coz he's not a normal straight edged band member like people from Panic! or The Feeling....he's just got sumit different.....
and bak to the subject of gigs.....his charisma on stage is fookin immense...crowd will do anyfink he says...althoughm he neva said much coz he was wasted and smacked of his ****...which made the gig all the more better!!

Bez sayin the crowd will do anythin he wants doesnt enhance his stature as a performer...when I went to see Slipknot, everyone did what Corey Taylor (the singer btw for u non-educated delinquents) said, so do you hold them two as alike? thought not
and jokes about quo's music and apparent lack of chords (ive never heard much of them tbh) are a bit lame aswell as theyve been goin 20 years as Boozad said, which is an awesome feat. VERY few bands or artists these days would be able to do that, Doherty included.
You're right when you say he hasmore charisma than the feeling etc...my little finger has more charisma than bands like that...but sayin sayin he's different cos he takes hard drugs and thats why u like him is a bit gay...I like Adolf Hitler cos he killed a fair few million people, which to be fair was different than most political leaders

40 years for the Quo mate
And this is not in their defence concerning the 3-chord **** (well I spose it is really), but Im a pretty decent guitarist, and in the past Ive been able to learn other peoples songs by ear (Metallica, Pantera, Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth, Foo Fighters to name a few) but if I go through Quos back catalogue - extensive as it is - I struggle to pick up most of it because of the intricate guitar work.
Believe it or not, but its true. Now Im not talking about commercial stuff like Rockin All Over The World (terrible song) or Whatever You Want or the like, but the album stuff. Which 99% of people who roll out the same old jibes have never heard. I would highly recommend picking up the On The Level, Quo, Hello, Piledriver, Whatever You Want and Never Too Late albums.
I know nobody is going to rush out and buy these, but honestly, you would be amazed at the amount of influence these albums have in todays guitar orientated bands. And the lack of 3-chord **** on there.....
I said I wouldnt bite at those jokes but I have. So now do me a favour, listen to these and THEN knock them for the same reasons, and I'll shut my mouth.

That would be because Doherty would be dead by that time.
