###Author's Note
Here comes a new story by me. If there are any unwanted coincidences or any grammatical mistakes in this story, I am sorry.

My name is Slobodan Imranović. I was born in Solna Municipality, Stockholm, Sweden on October 19th, 1973. My father was a student from Yugoslavia. He was born in Kragujevać, Yugoslavia, (now Serbia). My mother was Swedish. I chose to be the citizen of Sweden, my birth land.

I love football. I’m a fan of AIK Solna since I was a kid. I was a professional footballer. I played in various countries, such as Sweden, Norway, and Denmark before I decided to retire four years ago. But, I never played for AIK. I've gained my UEFA Coaching Badge last year.
I was walking around in Stockholm with my wife when somebody phoned me. I didn’t recognize the number and the country code isn’t familiar for me.

Me: “Hello”
Someone on the phone: “Hello, is this Mr. Imranović?”
Me: “Yes, who is this?”
Someone on the phone: “I am Seppo Koskinen, chairman of Valkeakosken Haka FC.”
Me: “Haka?”
Someone on the phone: “Yes, Haka. You should’ve known about it right?”
Me: “Well, of course Mr. Koskinen. By the way, what bring you to phone me?”
Someone on the phone: “I want you to come to Valkeakoski tomorrow.”
Me: “Tomorrow? What for?”
Someone on the phone: “We want you to be the manager of Haka. Please come to Valkeakoski tomorrow to talk about this.”

I’m silenced for a while. My dream to be a manager comes true…

Someone on the phone: “Mr. Imranović?”
Me: “Oh, yes. I’ll come to… uh… Valka…”
Someone on the phone: “Valkeakoski.”
Me: “Oh, ya… that’s what I mean. I’ll come to Valkeakoski tomorrow.”
Someone on the phone: “Good. I’m looking forward to meet you, Mr. Imranović”

I will manage Haka soon. But, I’ve never been to Finland before. I can’t speak Finnish.
I talked to my wife until night about this, and she suggested me to go for it.

February 20th, 2010
I arrived in Helsinki-Malmi Airport at 9 a.m., and travelled 93 miles to Valkeakoski. I arrived in Tehtaan kenttä, the homeground of Valkeakosken Haka FC. Mr. Koskinen and the town manager Mr. Markku Auvinen welcome me. They brought me walk around the stadium. Then, Mr. Koskinen brought me to the board room of Haka FC.

We were dealing about contract until 13 a.m. and then Mr. Koskinen said that I will be introduced to people on February 25th, and I must be in Valkeakoski one day before that to start managing the club.
That means I have 3 days to talk with my wife, and move to Valkeakoski.
After the deal, I express my relief with rising up my hand, and bring it to my face.

Mr. Koskinen: “Mr. Imranović, are you a moslem?”
Me: “Yes, I am. How do you know about that?”
Mr. Koskinen: “The way you pray just now. Oh, you might need this phone number.”

He hands over a name card to me.

Me: “Suomen… Islam-seura…kunta?”
Mr. Koskinen: “That’s Finnish Islam Organisation.”
Me: “Oh, thanks sir. I’ll certainly need this.”

After that, he suggested an apartment around the stadium for me to live in.
I went there, and rent one room to live in.
Before Mr. Koskinen leaves, he told me that there’s a street downtown named “Valtakatu”. If I need something, just get there.

February 21st, 2010
I arrived in Solna at 1 p.m. My wife has been waiting for me inside the house. She asked about how was the deal. I told her, everything was fine, and everything goes well. What I need is her presence around me.

She shed her tears and hugged me with love. After that, she asked, “But what about our children? We can’t just leave them here.”

That’s a problem. The oldest one, Harun is still 12 this years old, and I can’t just leave them.
“So?” I asked her.
“I’ll stay here, honey. Taking care of our children. At least, until Harun graduated from the high school.” she said.
“Well, sweetheart. If that’s your choice, I’ll respect that. Insha Allah, I’ll be home if I have time.” I said.

February 23rd, 2010
I kissed Kareena before I go to Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. I’m going to miss her a lot.
As soon as I arrived at my apartment, I pray to God for my success in managing Haka. Then, I walk around in Valtakatu.

Sigh, Suomi is a little bit hard for me. Maybe, it’s because Suomi isn’t a Scandinavian language. Wikipedia said that it’s a kind of Uralic language.

I phone the Suomen Islam-seurakunta and asked about the masjids (mosques) in Valkeakoski.
They said, there are no masjids in Valkeakoski. But there are 7 masjids in Helsinki, 2 in Espoo, Järvenpää, Lappeenranta, and Turku, 1 in Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Kotka, Kajaani, Kuoplo, Lahti, Oulu, Tampere, Pori, Porvoo, and Vaasa.

I asked for the nearest one from Valkeakoski. They said it’s in Tampere, 22 miles north of Valkeakoski.
I need to go to Tampere every Friday for Jum’ah Prayer.

February 24, 2010
I came to Tehtaan kenttä early, and I met the players in the dressing room. It was cold and snowed hard outside. I asked who can speak Swedish in the squad, and Sebastian Strandvall raised his hand. I asked him to be my translator here, because I can’t speak Finnish.

I told the squad, I want them to fight hard this season. I told them to fight for the fans, for the club, and for the people in the city.

As the team was training, the current assistant manager came to me and gave his reports of the players. He didn’t write his reports well, in my opinion.

That day, I offered mutual termination of contract to the backroom staffs that I judged not good enough, including the assistant manager.

February 25th, 2010
This is the first day I meet the media as Haka FC’s manager. A bit nervous though, but I hope my answers were satisfying.

I also wanted to see how well this squad play with 4-4-2. As proposed by the assistant manager the day before, Haka will play with Koskenpojat a.k.a Haka-B. I was really shocked to see the squad lose 0-1 to the reserve. But, I have another strategy for this team.

Well, it’s hard to manage without assistant. So, I search a Swedish assistant manager to help me here.

I appointed Gary Sundgren to be my assistant here. Thanks God, he can speak both Swedish and Finnish. Sundgren was Swedish international. He played 41 times and scored one goal for the national team. On his career, he played for AIK Solna from 1988 to 1996 before moved to Real Zaragoza, and back to AIK again on 2002 to end his career there.

Today is the end of pre-season campaign. Veikkausliiga Liigacup a.k.a. Finnish Premier Division League Cup also held in the pre-seasons. Between the matches, there were also some friendlies.

Now, let’s see Haka’s Veikkausliiga Liigacup 2010 campaign.
The liigacup has already been started at the time I manage the team. Haka has played 4 matches. 2 wins and 2 lose. So, I need to win on the rest two games to ensure Haka’s place on the quarter final.

VEIKKAUSLIIGA LIIGACUP REVIEW
GROUP PHASE
LiigacupGroupAKuPS0-3Haka.png

This game pretty easy though. We get three points in front of KuPS’ supporters.
LiigacupGroupAHaka3-1MyPa.png

Another easy win, this time in front of our own supporters at Tehtaan kenttä.
LiigacupGroups.png

We won the Liigacup Group A! Prepare for the QF.

LIIGACUP QUARTERFINAL
We met though opponent in the quarterfinal. Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi a.k.a. HJK Helsinki. To make it worse, we played in front of their supporters!

We were 2-0 down until the first half, until Mäkitalo downed by a trip from Medo. Strandvall took the penalty, and I jumped highly and pray that this goal can raise the players’ morale.
I changed the tactic become more attacking, and it works. Minute 63’, Valeri Minkenen gave a brilliant pass to Mikko Innanen. Innanen dribble it to the final third, and GOAL!!!!!!

I was ecstatic! Fantastic comeback!

90 minutes ended, and it was time for penalties.
I was shocked when Antti Hynynen missed his penalty. But, I was really relieved to see their 5th kicker; Jukka Sauso missed his penalty too. Medo, he made a mistake again. He missed his penalty, and Valeri Minkenen my last kicker did his job well.
LiigacupQFHJK2-2Haka.png

Haka advance to the Semifinal

LIIGACUP SEMIFINAL
We met Jyväskylän Jalkapalloklubi a.k.a. JJK in the semifinal.
Again, we were down 2-0! But this time, only until 33rd minute. A double from Mikko Innanen at 33’, and 43’ made the game level. But, they scored just before the half time. Haka 2, JJK 3 in the first half.

I told the players at the first half break, they need to work harder, I want to see more from them.
We played spartan in the second half. Antti Hynynen leveled the things up at 66th minute. A pass from Sami Ristilä finished nicely by him.

I was preparing for penalties again when the captain Jani Kauppila red carded. But, no need for penalties, though. Innanen’s pass to empty space in front of goal finished by Mika Mäkitalo at 84th minute.
LiigacupSemifinalHaka4-3JJK.png

Haka advanced to the Final!!!

LIIGACUP FINAL
Alright, this is the final.
Before the match, I told the players,
“We are Haka! We are one of the most successful clubs in Finland! Now, make Valkeakoski proud! Make this town party tonight! Win this cup for our supporters!!!”

The first 15 minutes, we played not very good. Jari Litmanen scored for Lahti, and I was shocked to see that goal!

Their lead didn’t get too far, though. 17 minutes after that, Sebastian Strandvall scored. From a good counter-attack, a cross by Pietari Holopainen met the foot of unmarked Strandvall and he buried it away!

The score still 1-1 until 90 minutes. So, it was penalties again.
We kicked first, and our first kicker done his job nicely.

All the five first kickers scored, so now if somebody misses, he will be blamed.
Valeri Minkenen’s penalty missed the target! He kicked it wide!!! If Lahti’s kicker scored, they’ll lift the trophy.
I was really nervous. I prayed to God to give strength to Janne Korhonen, our goalkeeper, to save the penalty.

Heikki Haara step up for his penalty. I closed my eyes. I can’t see the winning penalty. I could hear the whistle from the ref, and moments later the stadium cheers!!!
What’s happening???
I opened my eyes to see Korhonen raise his hands and cheer in front of the goal. He saved the penalty.

9th penalty, Petri Viljanen did his job well. And now, with much hope to Korhonen, I stand to see Jussi Länsitalo step up for his penalty.

AND LÄNSITALO MISSED HIS PENALTY!!!
VALKEAKOSKEN HAKA FC WON THE VEIKKAULIIGA LIIGACUP 2010!!!
LiigacupFinalHaka2-2FCLahti.png

LiigacupKnockout.png

I fell to the ground, prostrate to God. Thanked Him to what He gave to me tonight.
I’ve won my first silverware for Haka!!! I hope this form continues in the league.

Here are the whole pre-season results:

“Kiitos, herra Slobodan Imranović!”
That’s the word I saw on the Tehtaan kenttä’s gate. I imagine about what does it mean, but I think it means thank you. Strandvall whispered to me, “That means ‘thank you, Mr. Slobodan Imranović!’”. He noticed me looking at that sentence for long time.

Haka never won any silverware since they won the Suomen Cup on 2005. 5 years without silverware for such a successful team is a misery.

I nearly forgot about my wife in Solna. I call her soon to inform this.
Me: “Salaam alaykum, sweetheart.”
Kareena: “Alaikum salaam. Honey, is that you?”
Me: “Yes, it’s me sweetie.”
Kareena: “How are you, honey? I miss you…”
Me: “Miss you too, sweetheart. I’m more than happy today! Guess what, Haka won Finnish League Cup! We won the match on a nerve-racking penalty shootout!”
Kareena: “Wow, that’s great honey. Alhamdulillaah………..”
Me: “Kareena? Sweetie? Hello?? Kareena???”

The call was terminated. Don’t know what happened. I was scared that something terrible happened to my wife.
I tried to call her again, but then I realized that the remaining pre-paid credit was insufficient to make a phone call. Sigh, international call is expensive!!!

good luck, i will follow this as its different from the same old stories on here.

Break it up more Bijak. The text is too close together, and not broken up enough by paragraphs etc. With screenshots you might want to add them as attachments rather
tags from imageshack or something. (Looks neater and makes it smaller..)

Also, you've got a very original idea here, if you look at some of the best stories around (see 'Story of the Year' thread, and look at some of the stickies in the story section - you could have a really good story here.)

Aaaand, instead of making dialogue like a play
Me:
Your mum:
Me:
etc.
Make it more like a book, where you describe the situation, what they're doing, what they sound like, are they shouting etc.?

I hope you don't take my criticism to heart, i'm just trying to help as i have seen a lot of successful stories on here, and even been involved in one of them! So i like to think i know what people will follow.

Good luck, i'll check back when i can.

I'm also following ;)

thanks mate :)

okay, I'll break it up to make it easier to read.

uhh, about the image, I dislike the attachment.
mainly because I can't arrange the images as I want.

about the dialogue...
yeah, I think it'll improve this story by writing it that way.

about your critics,
my father always teach me to life with democracy.
and one point of democracy is accepting critics.

critics are always fine, mate.
except if you insult me in your critic.

by the way, thanks in advance :)

Well, today is the end of the transfer window.
Scandinavian leagues aren’t like European leagues in common. The league played in the middle of the year. Commonly, from March to October (yeah, from spring to fall because winter in Scandinavia is CRAZY).

Veikkausliiga starts on April and ends on October. Transfer windows are on March 1st to April 30th (I’ll call that Spring Transfer Window), and 1-31 August (well, it’s Summer Transfer Window). Between January 1st to August 31st (outside the transfer windows), you can still sign players, but free agents only.

Here are players that I captured:
Haka_transfer_spring.png

Obviously, I still need new players to strengthen this team. But, because lack of fund, I can’t buy more good players.

June 16th, 2010
5 wins, 2 draws, and 3 lose. Scored 13, conceded 12. Well, I need a new striker, I guess. A killer striker. And also a great goalkeeper. Let’s see what I can do with little budget.

By the way, we’ve signed Indonesian international striker Sergio van Dijk on a free transfer. He came to Valkeakoski on June 8th, and warmly welcome in the club. Fortunately, Ristilä can speak Dutch. I hope he could help Sergio settle in Finland.

July 14th, 2010
Well, there’s no summer break in Finnish League even though there are several days without any matches. So, in that period, I took a break from July 14th to July 17th.

Soon as I arrived in Solna, I knock the door and I said, “Salaam alaykum”
I could hear Kareena replied my greeting. She came up to open the door.
“Alaikum salaam” she said before opening the door. Then she hugged me like she never met me for a thousand years, as soon as she opened the door.
“Why didn’t you tell me that you’re going home?” she asked bemusedly.
“Let’s say that this is a sudden summer break, sweetheart.” I answered.
After some conversation with her, I came to Hasan’s room.

“Papa!!” he shouted when he saw me entering his room.
“Hey, Hasan. How was your school? Everything’s fine?” I asked him.
“Yes dad. You know what, all people in Solna watched World Cup Final. There was a big screen on the city centre.” he said.
“Really? You went there too?” I asked.
“Yes. But the final wasn’t good because Spain was lost.” He said with sorrow tone. He’s a fan of Barcelona, and Iniesta is his idol.
“Maybe because Iniesta didn’t play.” I said to him, and he nodded.

Everyone gathered in the living room after maghreeb (evening) prayer.
“Want to have dinner in McD tonight?” I asked to the family. The kids enthusiastically nodded. I saw Kareena smiled nicely. It’s a long time I didn’t have dinner with my wife, Hasan, and my little fairy – Latheefa.

July 17th, 2010
Although I only had three days off, I had good time with my family. We travelled to Stockholm and had fun there.
I also bought a new laptop for Kareena. I told her that if she misses me, she just needs to use the webcam for video chat.
Then I’m back to Valkeakoski. Tehtaan kenttä will be visited by FF Jaro tomorrow. I need to be ready for that.

August 11th, 2010
Ramadan has come, but I feel there’s something that incomplete. I miss the special food that Kareena usually make in Ramadan. I had video chat with her last night. I told her that I missed her lot this month, and I also sorry if I can’t go home on the Eid-al-Fitr day.

This year’s Ramadan is in summer. Ramadan in summer is a tough challenge for Muslims in the northern hemisphere, especially in Nordic Countries. The day is much longer than the night, which means, Muslims need to keep from eating longer than usual.

Frederick Oumar Kanoute is one of the best Muslim footballers ever. He still fasting and play even in the summer and in the middle of congested fixtures.

The Summer Transfer Window has been closed. Here are the players I signed and the players sold:
haka_trans_sum10.png

Sigh, I need to balance the wage, because now the wage budget is negative.
haka_budget.png

Veikkausliiga is now become so tight. We slipped to the 6th position. 5 points away from the leader FC Lahti, and one point away from the 4th position. 4th position is the last position eligible for UEFA Europa League’s qualification. I want to bring this team there, eventhough the board only wants Haka to be in respectable position.

I want to highlight our game with VPS. I don’t know what the **** happened that day, but we were drawn 5-5 after we led 4-1!!! That was just unbelievable.
I shouted to the squad, I was very disappointed. I got angered with several players, especially the defenders and the goalkeeper. How could they let theirselves down and let the opponent scored **** loads of goal!!!
haka_liiga_vsVPS.png

Today, I planned to go on holiday to Solna. September 10th is Eid-al-Fitr day, and I don’t wanna miss the moment with my family. I asked Mr. Koskinen for permission, and he granted me the permission. I’ll be back to Tehtaan kenttä at September 11th – one day before the game versus FC Lahti.

October 31st, 2010
The 2010 Season has been ended. We finished 5th – 5 points away from 4th position Tampere United. 12 wins, 4 draws, and 10 loses.
haka_table_end10.png

We lose to VPS, HJK (twice), Lahti (twice), Tampere (twice), TPS, Inter Turku, and Jaro. Drawn to KuPS, Inter Turku, VPS, and RoPS.

Our loses to VPS, TPS, and Jaro were simply unbelievable. This team got complacent and that ruined everything. Our games versus VPS were the worst. First we lose, the second we drawn after comfortably led the game.

We did a great job on Suomen Cup by reaching the semifinal. We lost to the eventual winner Tampere.

Our defence is a little bit rusty in my opinion. That’s what I need to strengthen. The forward combination of Ikävalko and van Dijk were simply great. They scored a total of 20 goals on this year’s campaign. Let’s see what will be happened next year.

Mikko Innanen also made a very good contribution to the team. For his form, he was called up to Finnish national team and scored on his national debut.

Squad’s end season break until November 29th, 2010. I’ll be back to the club one day before it.
I’ve told Kareena, I’ll depart to Solna today. I can’t wait for that.

I was on the training ground that morning when Chairman Mr. Koskinen called me to his room.

“We’ve seen how this club run this year.” Mr. Koskinen started the meeting.
I was totally nervous at that time. Did I make mistake this year? Am I going to be sacked?

“You’ve made a good job, Mr. Imranović. We’ve decided to offer you a new contract.” he said.
“Alhamdulillah…” I said in my heart. The board was impressed with how the club going this season.
Then I signed the new contract that will keep me until 2013. After the board meeting, I walked to the training ground with a big smile.

Haka reached the Final of Veikkausliigacup again. This time we faced Rovaniemen Palloseura a.k.a. RoPS. We suffered a defeat against RoPS in the group stage.
Before this match, I told the team, “I want the trophy, and you all will bring that trophy to me!”

I told them like that because Sundgren said that Krammer, our new right-back was thinking that our recent form was enough to win such match.
RoPS was like a Zambian mini national team. The 8 Zambian players in that team called up to the national team of Zambia.

At last, we won the match with struggle, and retain the Liigacup title.
haka_liigacup_final11.png

haka_preseasonliigacup11.png

So far we’ve signed free players. One of them is Tabaré Viudez. A good talent, but wasted away by A.C. Milan.
haka_trans_spr11_in_00.png

Too many useless players in the B-Team, so I decide to open a big sale with 100% discount on most of the players.
By the way, the big sale was successful. Although we only got 13k EUR from the transfer, I still get about 60k EUR for transfer from their combined weekly salaries (after some budget adjustment).
haka_trans_spr11_out_00.png

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. The club’s financial balance is still negative 1,845m EUR. I spend more than I gain in nearly every month. That’s what I need to look at, because I don’t want this club gone bankrupt because of me.

“Mr. Imranović, Chairman wants you to come to his room now.” that’s what the short message I received in my cellphone from the club’s secretary.
I came to Chairman’s room, and when I arrived, he was in the room with somebody else.
“Mr. Imranović, this is Mr. Per Bystedt, Chairman of AIK Solna.”
“Hello, Mr. Imranović. How’s life?” Mr. Bystedt greeted me.
“Hi, Mr. Bystedt, I’m fine. By the way, what bring you here?” I asked.
“I’m here to offer you contract. We want you to manage AIK.” he said.

I’m silenced for a while. AIK wants me to be their manager?
“We will give you 1.2 millions EUR for transfer and 500k EUR for wage budget.” he added.

I looked at Mr. Koskinen. He looked anxious. I requested some minutes to think about it.
I know that I love AIK since I was a kid, but I haven’t finished my goals in Finland yet.
“I have another plan; I want to manage AIK, but not now. I’m not ready yet.” I said to Mr. Bystedt.
“Sorry, Mr. Bystedt, but I can’t manage AIK now. I still have something to do in Haka.”

“Well, if that’s your choice, we’ll respect it. Good luck with Haka, Mr. Imranović” he finished our conversation that day.
No doubt people might think I’m crazy to reject AIK. But, I have no regret to reject them now. I saw Mr. Koskinen smiled to me after the meeting.

Although we started the season with a loss, but now we’re on top with 19 points from 9 games.

I hope this form continued until the end. There are still 17 games to go. If we could get 12 wins from them, I believe it’ll be enough to win the trophy.

Last summer’s transfer window is a bit quiet in my opinion; here are the players I captured this season:
haka_trans_sum11_final.png

Today is the 2nd leg for relegation playoff between Tampere and KooTeePee. Tampere won 1-0 on the first leg. I hoped for Tampere’s lose but, they won the match.

2011 was a brilliant season. Haka lifts the Veikkausliiga trophy again. This year’s triumph is Haka’s 10th domestic title that people here have been waited for 7 years.
haka_table_11_final.png

haka_fixt_11_final.png

We won the league with struggle indeed. Honka was trailing us two points in the last five games, and if we slipped, we would lose this trophy. In the end, the whole Valkeakoski had party for a week after our last game against VPS.

This is my first double; Haka has won the league and the league cup. Well, the board was slightly disappointed because we didn’t reach the final of the Suomen Cup, but despite that, they delighted that the club stature is increased.

The team was simply unbelievable. van Dijk scored 21 goals this season, and just prepare to be astonished when you see these:
Liga_playerstat.png

Liga_avgrat.png

“Salaam alaykum, Kareena. How are you there, sweetie? Guess what, we won the league! And next year, Haka will play in the Champions League. Please pray for us here, so we can reach the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. Chat with you later tomorrow. I miss you so much.”

That was the message I sent to Kareena right after Anderson Bamba scored the fifth goal on our last game versus VPS. We ended the league with an away game, and we were having party on VPS’ home under sour jeers from VPS’ fans.

When our bus arrived in Valkeakoski, the whole city cheered! They yelled the names of van Dijk, Mäkitalo, and Holopainen.

Throughout the season, our main captain Corpache was injured nearly all the time. That’s why, the player who wore the captain armband was Holopainen on most of our games, and the fans thought that Holopainen was the main captain because of that.

Tomorrow Veikkausliiga will be started. Our first game will be away game versus IFK Mariehamn.

Sigh, we failed to win Liigacup for the 3rd time in a row. All because of a late goal from Berat Sadik. But, that’s fine for me. I just want to focus on the league, Suomen Cup, and the Champions League.

Here's the whole preseason:

So far, we’ve only spent 250k (150k EUR on 48 months) for Mauricío, and the rest are free transfers. We also signed Finnish international Akseli Pelvas to pair with van Dijk.

Today we’ll face Mariehamn in Suomen Cup. The board wants Haka to advance to Final, so I MUST win this game!

We’re a little bit disappointing in the league. 3 loses in 8 games isn’t a good start for a defending champion. Now, 6 points away from the league leader FC Lahti, we have to find our best form if we still want to win the league.

We also signed Marvin Matip on a free transfer. He will be good as an anchor man.

Valkeakosken Haka – FC Basel (UEFA Champions League Qualification Playoff Leg 2)

Nobody expect us to go on so far, even I.
I was really ecstatic to win the game versus Vojvodina. We won 3-2 in their home after a 1-1 draw in Tehtaan kenttä. Now, if we won the playoff, we’ll be in the UEFA Champions League – a competition that can change an unknown and poor-financed teams become known (if could grab a win) and fairly rich.

In Basel, we were 3-0 down playing the second half. But, because of their complacency (I guess), we could score two goals, thanks to van Dijk. If we could win 1-0 only, we will be in UCL.
A bit nervous, I told the players to do this for the supporters. They seem motivated.
Just before the kick off, I sent Kareena a message to pray for us.

Basel dominated us in nearly all sector. My feeling was a little bit complicated that day.
We tried to play a bit attacking from the start. Our new young goalkeeper Damián Martínez did his job very well to stop Basel’s bombard.

Tehtaan kenttä quaked on 38th minute when Mikko Innanen scored a goal!
van Dijk saw Innanen in a good position, and Innanen beat the offside trap. And with a placed shot, Innanen scored the goal.
I jumped as high as I could that night. I’m overjoyed!

After that goal, I screamed to the players, “PARK THE BUS!!!!” But even though I told them to park the bus, we still try some attacking moves.
Michael Kempter blew the final whistle and Valkeakoski was totally wowed that night.

Several days later, we were drawn with Olympique Marseille, Chelsea, and Hamburg in UCL Group Stage.
Well, no chance to qualify for second round, but I think we still can fight for the third place in Group Stage, and we will play in Europa League.

This Summer Transfer window, we signed more players, and we also sold several players.

We’ve just won 6-1 against MyPa, and on Sept 18th, we’ll face l’OM for our first Champions League match in Tehtaan kenttä.
Sitting on 4th place with 6 games left and 11 points away from the league leader, I don’t think we have a good chance to win the league again.

I think it’s because Pelvas-van Dijk pair didn’t work well like in the pre-season. To make it worse, van Dijk was injured early in the league. Ikävalko-Pelvas pair wasn’t good either. But fortunately, Ikävalko-van Dijk pair is now getting better.

Valkeakosken Haka – Olympique Marseille (UCL Group A)
Marseille dominated us in this match, but we were lucky to hold them 0-0 in the first half.
Vagner Love scored on 67th minute, and that demoralised the players a little bit. van Dijk-Ikävalko didn’t play their best game, so I took them off and play Maurício-Pelvas pair.

It worked, indeed. Maurício scored in 85th minute, although then Love scored again two minutes later.
With the match going to an end, and I was hopeless, Pelvas lost his marker and found Maurício on a good space. Mauricío dribbled the ball to the penalty box, and place a shot to beat Mandanda. Maurício’s second goal!!! I prostrated to God right after that.

Then Mark Clattenburg blew his whistle, and fans were jubilant after the match.

Today is the last matchday of Veikkausliiga
FC Inter Turku is in the 1st position of the table, and we're only one point away from them.
After our recent clash in Tehtaan kenttä (which we won 2-0), Inter's form declined.

Their last game was against JJK, whilst our last game was against ****** rival Tampere United.
I really hoped that they slipped, and we won the game. Although I realized that Tampere isn't an easy opposition.

Before the match, I told Sundgren to keep checking the result of Inter vs JJK. Also, I texted Kareena about this. I told her to pray for us, and to pray for Inter's slip.

18 minutes after the kickoff, Akseli Pelvas scored a great goal. The score stay 1-0 in the first half.

I was shocked when Juha Pirinen equalised one minute after the second half kickoff. On minute 58, Sundgren told me, that Toni Koskela scored a penalty for JJK. And just several seconds after he told me that, Pelvas doubled our lead! After that goal, I told the entire bench, "We will win 2012 Veikkausliiga!!!"

We keep attacking and Ikävalko scored twice for us in minute 62 and 75.

Sundgren didn't give any news until the match nearing an end here. Then, he told me that the match in Veritas Stadion, Turku has ended 0-1 for JJK's victory.

I didn't know what happened that day, but right after Sundgren told me about what happened in Turku, the whole stadium cheered. This time because the referee blown the final whistle!!!

Valkeakosken Haka win the Veikkausliiga again!!!

November 3rd, 2012
We were humiliated by Chelsea in Tehtaan kenttä, but I hoped that it didn't demoralise players.
Because today is Suomen Cup Final, and again we play Tampere.

I told the players before the kickoff, "I want you to bring the trophy for our supporters. Make them proud with you. Don't disappoint them with a lose to a fierce rival!"

The first half ended 0-0, and I was pleased to see our pressing game. I told them that they only need one goal, and I believe that they can do that.

Finnair Stadium, Helsinki trembled when Niko Ikävalko scored for us in 50th minute. The crowd even go wild when Tabare Viudez scored 14 minutes after that.

Score still 2-0 for Haka until the referee, Tero Nieminen, blown his whistle.

Pietari Holopainen lift the trophy delightfully. This is my first real double.

Now I've won the league cup, the league, and the cup, and also bring the team to the UCL Group Stage.
I think my task in Finland has finished. But, no team need manager at this time. So, I think I'll leave if there are any team want me to be their manager.

December 11th 2012
Now, all the matches from the league, cup, and the champions league has finished.
I'm pleased that Haka can take two points from HSV and OM in the Group Stage, although the rest games were a humiliation.

Here's our rest games of the season:

The board offered me a new contract until 2015. I accepted that, but I told Mr. Chairman that I'll leave if any team offered me a contract.
