*Hello guys, my Luton save crashed after the first season so i decided to start again and sim the first season and take over a different team. Hope you follow!*

It was time. I now had a new job in football. A new home. I had been given the chance to take Sheffield Wednesday back to former glory after they failed to gain promotion from the N-Power League One to the Championship. I new it was going to be tough but am i ready to be in charge of a team who graces so many football honours and have won 4 Premier League titles, 4 Championship titles, 3 FA cups, 1 League cup and the community shield ? Only time will tell. The team IMO were not strong enough to win the league like the board expect me to so i felt i needed to chop and change. I made a list of possible players that would be leaving the club. The players i would like to of got rid of were Rob Jones, Jermaine Johnson, Clinton Morrison, Daniel Jones and Chris Sedgewick. I had to find the right players to fit the mold of my team to join us as i had a nice kitty of £3.25m, I already had a key striker however as Chris O'Grady finished last season with 20 goals. I decided to get some sleep as it was my first training session tomorrow.

I arrived at 8 am and training began at 9. I had a word with my new assistant manager Steve Evans. I was a close friend with him and we drew up a list of 4 players who we felt we needed to sign to help us achieve these goals. Obviously we would struggle with some but they were Glenn Whelan, Anthony Pilkington, Sean Scannell and Danny Batth. I started with some passing which i was pleased with, the shooting then defending/attacking and i was pleased with the first team so i went over to watch the U-18's train and i thought their shooting was dismal so i was on the look out for some fresh youth players. When my new scout Paul Montgomery burst through the door showing me videos of a 15 year old by the name of Les Skiverton, and he looked great, i signed him immediately.

After i had finished i went to see the boys in the changing room to say well done and how it's going to be a vital and tough year for our football club with the likes of Huddersfield, Preston, Coventry and Doncaster now in League One with us. They all seemed to be fine but just as i walked through the door i heard laughter and my name. I decided to wait just around the corner listening to the voices that i could pick out. They were saying that i wouldn't be able to cope and that i would get sacked because i'm not a good manager. I took note of the names, Clinton Morrison, Ryan Lowe, Cecil Nyoni, Rob Jones, Chris Sedgewick, Jermaine Johnson, Sean Cuff and James O'Connor. The clear out was about to begin. Two days later i had sold all of the players i wanted out and they were;

Clinton Morrison - Released
Jermaine Johnson - Released
Chris Sedgewick - Released
Cecil Nyoni - Released
Sean Cuff - Released
James O'Connor - Released
Rob Jones - Free - Swindon
Vadine Oliver - Released
Nathan Modest - Released
Jon Otsemobor - Released
Ryan Lowe - Free - Gillingham
Giles Coke - Free - Wrexham
Moses Sichone - Free - Cheltenham
Matty Pattison - £220,000 - FC Twente

This left me with 14 first team players and i needed to build on the team quickly before our first friendly against Braintree.

Following. That Skiverton lad look very promising

Dissapointed you sold Ryan Lowe :( he is seriously underated on FM though.

Good start anyways, I'll follow.

good start mate, I like the simple and clear layout with screenshots

I woke up nice and early on the day of my first game in football management. Yes it was only a friendly against Braintree but it meant so much to me. To step out and watch my team play and assess which areas need strengthening would be great and i had a slight rush of adrenaline even though there was 7 hours until kick off. As i sat eating a fry up that i decided to treat myself to i gathered a note pad and brush and decided to put a few line-up's together.

I couldn't think of anything else. I dazed over at my clock to see it was 11am and i needed to be at the ground by half past as Milan Mandaric had requested a meeting. I quickly put my best suit on and rushed into my car and off i went. On my way i received three text messages telling me about failed bids for players. The players were Anthony Pilkington, Sean Scannell and Jordan Rhodes. I threw my phone in anger onto the passenger seat and pulled up in the car park. I quickly ran up to Milan's office and i could see three figures through the tinted glass. I wondered who they were as they didn't seem familiar to me at the time. I knocked on the door and Milan shouted 'Come in Mr Southern.I looked up to Milan. As a supporter of the club all i can remember was the day he saved us from possible liquidation. He is a hero in my eyes. I opened the door only to see two players who i knew well and Milan saying 'I would like you to meet our new signings'. I was shocked that we had managed to sign them, they are both top class players and would be great in this division. Milan carried on to sad 'I'm afraid they cannot be played today but they will be available for the next game'. I nodded in amazement and set off to get ready for the game.

Scannell and Pilkington join for £1.5m and £1.8m respectively

It was time. My first match. I was buzzing. The players were getting ready when i introduced them to Anthony and Sean and i think it created a positive atmosphere around the place. I had decided to give 15 year old Les Skiverton a starting role today as i felt he could do with some playing time and he was really up for it. I sat the players down for the team talk.

'Alright lads. I'm not used to this sort of thing but as a 100% supporter of this club i know what you play like means to the fans. As it's a friendly i'm not too bothered about the final result, just go out there and enjoy yourselves. This could be like a cup final for them lot so they are going to be really going for it so try your best! I know we are short on numbers at the moment but i assure you all that will be done soon and we will have our squad for the season. Good luck out there lads and don't let the fans down.'

I sat in the dugout shaking like a leaf. The noise was deafening. 20,000 fans screaming your name. The players came out to the iconic 'Hi Ho Silver Lining' song and it was a great moment. The band were in full swing even though recently i was feeling a negative atmosphere and in the 11th minute after complete domination we'd scored. Paul Coutts, one of Gary Megson's signings smashed a volley in from the edge of the area and the ground erupted. I ran out of my seat to congratulate the players. In the 24th minute we doubled our advantage through last seasons top scorer Chris O'Grady, the tall and powerful striker ran through most of their defence before poking it past the keeper. The game didn't escalate after that and the score remained at 2-0 to us.
