Seems like there is a bit of a gamble with contract renewals for promising players as they enter their 18-20s.
Leave it too late and their demands can jump from 70kpw to 150kpw, decimating your wage structure.
Do it too early and you're paying out the higher wages earlier & they may still decide in the future that they want a better "key player" contract for 150k+ if someone like PSG throws money at them.
What's the best approach here? I've followed my normal policy of buying all the most affordable wonderkids and a few of them are starting to reach first-15 standard and will soon need upgrades on their c.60kpw contracts but I want to be careful with my finances. I can't afford 15-20 players on over 150kpw without breaking FFP, even if I use all my transfer budget just to renew my player without buying anyone new.
