CONTRACTS: Squad Status difference in wages?!

I'm in my third seasons with Leicester and I'm in the process of buying players and obviously - dealing with a lot of contracts, at the moment if I want to give a player the squad status "First Team" the maximum wage I can go up to is 10k, but when I put it too "Key Player" I can offer up too 125k, why is this? I don't want to be handing all these players "Key Player" squad roles but I can't give them any less cause the wages won't let me do so...

Anyone know what this is?

Well what you could do is offer them key player roles and then once they have signed just knock their squad status back down, I've done that before
