Looking good.

One question, though (maybe I'm just stupid): Why aren't the qualifying groups for EURO 2016 the real ones?

Well done on Qualifying for the Euro's! Hopefully you can maintain your good start to the league to!

Can honestly say I've unfortunately never been good enough to truly have a team that dominates in FM Light. Which is slightly embarrassing given what you've already achieved with Spartak alone. The rules might make it more challenging but truth to be told I actually quite like them. I would say the EPL should introduce something similar but English talent is far too over priced already.

Thanks Dllu, I'm not sure? Which group is looking wrong?

Cheers JamesScott, Keeping my fingers crossed.

With the Russian International team now secured into EURO 2016 all attention now turns to improving on CSKA's impressive start to the season.

One of the biggest games of the season has the two favourites for the title go toe to toe for the first time this year and its first blood to table topping CSKA. Zenit's talismanic striker Hulk opened the scoring within just ten minutes but a resurgent team soon found their stride and sent Villas Boa's men packing in style.

The international break apparently threw us off our game and lowly Amkar are quick to take advantage. The goal before the break rattled our usually steadfast team and we could do little to penetrate a determined defence from the struggling side as we fell to only our second loss of the season.

Having just been sent off in the game against Austria earlier in the month, Berezutskiy repeats the feat against the team from the Austria capital in what turned out to be an ill tempered affair. Fortunatley this time around the red card didn't affect the team as we ran out comfortable winners.

A huge game for the fans has all the thrills they would have wanted in a Capital City derby and gives the CSKA faithful bragging rights following a dramatic finish. The minor blip following the International break a-side, this has been another encouraging month from the Army boys, with the convincing victory over reigning title holders Zenit instilling some real belief in the team and the fans. With a comfortable gap over second place and Zenit seemingly well off the boil, we already look odds on to reclaim the title.

Played Three. Won Three. Can't ask for much more then that. Having comfortably found our way past each team, we've already got one eye on the next round and dreams of reclaiming the Europa League trophy are well and truly taking hold in Moscow.

_______

Treble on the cards?

With my International Career getting off to a spluttering start its good to know that I can return to the safety of CSKA and quickly turn my thoughts to some immediate Silverware. Having imposed ourselves at the top of the table, cruised our way into the Quarter Finals of the Kubok Rossii and with one foot already in the Europa League knock-out stages, I've subtly started making room in the trophy cabinet already.

I'll take it. In my version of the EURO qualifiers the plucky Northern Irish didn't make it to the finals but non the less they are still a tough side to break down on their day but a goal a piece from Shatov of Zenit and Parshivlyuk from Spartak came either side of a short lived Northern Irish fightback to give us a well earned victory.

_______

With that 2015 is done and dusted for the Russian side

On the pitch at least. Behind the scenes we will be frantically working to develop a tactic, arranging some important last minute friendlies before the tournament begins and most importantly of all awaiting the crucial group stage draw in December.

Our biggest challengers for the top of the table spot in the Europa League and we stroll to a comfortable victory in the heart of the Alps. A potentially challenging group has been made to look easy as we casually win every game of the group thus far but with a club of our calibre its as this point you remember we should really be mixing it with the likes of United, Madrid and Munich in the Champions League this season.

_______

Its getting closer.

Last month with Lokomotiv being our nearest challengers for the top spot I felt the league was all but in the bag but with Zenit now ready to pounce at the next opportunity I realise how naive I was. We're just past the half way point with our squad pressed across three competitions and our lead scorer about to depart. Time for a wobble.

The last bit of action for CSKA in 2015.

It might not be the Champions League but bringing the trophy back to our new stadium with a tower designed after the iconic bit of silverware would certainly be special.

Its the New Year!

Yup. In terms of footballing in Russia, winter just stops everything. Literally everything! The players are on leave, the grounds are all covered and every sane person is wrapped up indoors waiting for the whole thing to blow over but that didn't stop the awards being rolled out.

Prem'er Liga
Player of the Year - 2015/16
2015162_zps2v3yegtq.png

Rather unexpected to be totally honest but our right winger Tosic scoops up the award just ahead of fellow wide-man Musa. Our flanks have proved to be deadly this year with the duo raining in nearly Twenty Five assists between them in the season thus far. Not bad when you consider we've only played 17 games. Probably explains why the likes of West Brom and Southampton have been sniffing around him of late. Hands off.

CAF Midfielder of the Year - 205/16
2015161_zps0pi1yy2t.png

Yes its only second place but non the less what an achievement from our pacey Nigerian. In the end only the African midfield ace that is Yaya Toure could hold Musa from claiming the prize. Alongside Tosic we have no need to worry about have the wings covered for the foreseeable future but with Doumbia due to leave the club Musa might soon see himself playing as our lone striker for the remainder of the season.

CAF Striker of the Year - 205/16
2015163_zpsvadxavn8.png

Yup. Another runner up but Doumbia has certainly ended his spell with CSKA on a high. Seventeen goals within just Twenty Two games and leaving behind some very good memories in the Russian capital. As you can see above he has already returned to Roma following the end of his loan. I can't help but think Doumbia is going to be wasted in Rome but its unfortunately out of my hands. Maybe he'll begin to hate the Italian Summers and crave a Russian Winter or two...maybe.

_______

Not a bad haul for CSKA.

These three have been crucial for CSKA this season and between them they have taken us to the top of the table in style. Truth be told I'm really worried with Doumbia now packing his bags for Italy but we cant afford to wait for a replacement to come walking into Moscow. Theirs a transfer window coming and we're getting desperate. Bring on the panic buys!

Perfect design, good luck!

p.s. use Golovin and Karavaev (right back, in loan in the first season) - prospect players

Cheers Sanchez, been keeping an eye on both of them, Karavaev looks very impressive can't wait to get him back.

_______

Back to Action.

With three months off, its fair to say we are eager to get back into action, however we still have a transfer window to negotiate our way through and our brand new stadium is nearing completion.

TROMRc_zps66af374e.png

We need to get down to business and fast.

With no out right striker, a squad of just Eighteen and just under three million pounds in the bank we have a lot of business to be done in the window however we still saw a couple of players leave Moscow for the remainder of the season.

MidTran-1_zps1qi8fpx5.png

Just the two departures. Golovin and Aliev are both part of our under Twenty Ones team and are unfortunately seeming to be a long way short of having the quality to break into the first team any time soon. A short spell for the both of them in the second tier of Russian football will do them the world of good.

Despite just two departures we saw a lot of interest surrounding our first team with our Brazilian right-back Mario Fernandes causing a bidding war between the Manchester clubs, newly crowned Player of the Year, Tosic drawing a couple of lowly bids from Germany and Austria and even West Brom trying to sign both the aging Ignashevich and even club icon Igor Akinfeev.

Needless to say we rejected all the bids placed towards our first team players and managed to convince those under the big clubs radars to remain with us till at-least the end of the season.

Having held the squad together and escaped any morale breaking transfer sagas we can turn our attention to adding to the ranks with a striker being the main focus for our tiny budgets.

MidTran-2_zpsyp00s0rh.png

_______

MidTran-3_zpsus9kju1h.png

We needed a Striker. With numbers low and Russian strikers being few and far between we turned our attention to filling our now empty international player spot with the quick signing of former Manchester City forward, Robinho.

The Brazilian has starred for the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and AC Milan in an impressive career but has rarely played for the last three seasons dwindling back at boyhood club Santos and most recently in China with Guangzhou. Its a risky gamble but the veteran forward still has the ability to provide us with the goals to bring home some Silverware this season.

Given the funds available and the lack of decent Russian talent, it went about as good as could be expected for us in the window and Robinho sure could provide us with some much needed goals. However there are just two
small
problems.

He's not a complete striker and we didn't register him in time for the latter stages of the Europe League.

_______

Combined with the fact I signed a player who was unavailable until January in the Summer, I think I might be awful at transfers in this Football Manager.

Robinho - nice man! Hope you can stay ahead of Zenit!

Cheers Timmzeh. Looking forward to seeing him in action!

TROMRb_zps6ab424e1.png

The New Year also sees us discover who our competition will be in the EURO finals.

We're in the second pot for the draw and will be hoping to avoid any of the main competition at this early stage. With eyes firmly set on qualifying from the group, the results of the draw will hold a lot of sway in our success.

_______

Bosn_zpslh1utqzc.png

Bosnia are the lowest rank side in our group but are by no means prepared to be the groups whipping boys. With the likes of Edin Dzeko and Miralem Pjanic in their ranks they certainly have the fire power to cause an upset or two in the group stages but losses to Israel and Cyprus last year go to show their weaknesses at the back.

_______

Switz_zpss4nksfre.png

The Swiss are another side, who we would be foolish to underestimate. Shaqiri might not have the allure he once had whilst amongst the ranks of Bayerns greats but can still spring a surprise or two on a cold Tuesday night in Stoke, however qualifying from an easy group does mean that Switzerland could soon be in for an abrupt wake up call.

_______

Holl_zpslvki88fe.png

The big dogs of the group. Having won the competition way back in 1988, The Dutch side will be keen to finally add to their trophy cabinet. Having always been so close to success, Holland will be eager to show a ruthless streak in this competition but with an ageing side and some big gaps in their team they are not the powerhouse they once where in Europe.

_______

It's do-able.

The group stage was relatively kind to us. We managed to avoid the likes of Germany and Spain however we still landed a fairly tough group. Neither Bosnia or Switzerland are likely to see this competition through without putting up a fight, whilst Holland will be keen to prove themselves once more, however I remain confident of being able to grind our way out of the group stage.

El15Mar-1_zpsw63ve0qy.png

We couldn't find a way past the resilient Belgians and some sloppy defending on our own behalf allowed them to nick a winner mid way through the second half. The one benefit is that we are only behind by just the one goal however not being able to ****** an away goal was a big let down. We miss Doumbia.

Thirty Three thousand people can fit into this impressive stadium in the heart of Moscow and god knows how many will be able to fill into the Europa League inspired tower in the corner of the stadium.

Its a small stadium for any other club that would so regularly appear in the Champions League but with room to expand and a fan base to build in there new home, I am eager to see us build slowly into the stadium and create an atmosphere to be feared.

With just six home games remaining it should hopefully be easy to create a new formidable unbeaten run within the impressive stadium.
