Cross tactic.. with Target Man

I've looked at using a tactic to utilize going wide and crossing on every attack and using Andy Carroll to lead the attack.. Almost as if I was playing FIFA and just go wide and cross... is there any tactics out there which have been used with good effect?

any replies or redirects I would be grateful for.
