Dear tactical geniuses, I am currently busy with a FM save from which I am also doing a story on. My regret shows that the teams are under performing and I think it is because my tactics, player roles, team instructions; and the set pieces are not as good as they can be. I create lots of chances (mostly at least 20 shots a game) but score to few and out of low shots (mostly under 10 shots against) I get lots of goals against. To make the series better I want the best possible tactics for my players and if you would want to I?d love to have your help on this.

This is the selection:
GK: Hart, Pantilimon, Gunn
DR: Richards and Zabaleta
DL: Clichy and Kolarov
CB: Kompany, Mangala, Lescott and Nastasic
MC: Fernandinho, Tour?, Jav? Garc?a and Rodwell
AMR: Silva and Navas
AML: Nasri and Milner
ST: Ag?ero, Negredo, Jovetic, Nimely and Dzeko

In advance thank you for your help and with the help I get the chance gets bigger that the team you prefer will be better in the story of my save.

i've been playing a similar system with city with some decent success (10 games unbeaten in the league with 24 goals for and 6 against).

first off, are you on the new (14.3) patch? if so i highly recommend dropping fernandinho to dmc (i use him as DLP-d, tight marking instruction). 14.3's defending is a bit shaky, without a dmc cbs gets dragged into "the hole" by a striker/amc and fullbacks cannot track opponent wingers well. for the same reason, i play my wingbacks on support duty with tight marking. use the "get further forward" instruction on your wbs if you want to overlap. also, i have both my cbs on defending duty. cover/stopper system can be confusing against teams playing 2 strikers, so unless you want to tweak against each opponent leaving both on d is better.

your attacking roles and duties look fine, i have jovetic on the left as IF-a (get further forward and sit narrow instructions)and he's been scoring. dunno about nasri as he's been crocked for me since pre-season. to get the best out of aguero i have him as CF-a...it lets him use his range of talent and he has been lethal in this role for me (14 league goals in 10 games).

your team instructions look ok, i use shorter passing and retain possession personally but city is good enough to play any style you prefer. i would use overlap, zabaleta and clichy get quite high up the pitch in pelligrini's system and will offer width as nasri and silva frequently tucks inside. make sure to adjust your d-line according to the opponent (higher d-line with offisde against short passing teams, drop deeper against direct teams).

I picked the database up from the internet so I need to look on what patch it was made on and I will try your defensive tips and will use Jovetic on the left when Nasri is unvailable and I keep the CF in mind for Aguero. So far Aguero produced 2 hattricks for me as poacher so not yet need for change but it is good to keep that in mind. Thank you for your time and advice I really appriciate that.
