Since people have been asking for help on a daily basis about defending set-pieces, here is a basic guide to setup your team defending corners and free-kicks successfully.
Free-Kicks
4 players on "Wall" (attackers preferentially)
3 players on "Man" (good marking, anticipation and jumping required)
1 player on "Stand on Near post"
1 player on "Stand on Far post"
1 player "Edge of Area"
Corners
Option A
3 players "Forward" (speed is a must)
3 players marking "Tall" (good marking, anticipation and jumping required, Defenders and Defensive Midfielders usually)
1 player marking "Near post" (Full-back usually)
1 player marking "Far post" (Full-back usually)
1 player marking "Man" (Defensive Midfield or Full-Back usually)
1 player "Back"
Option B
3 Players "Forward"
2 Players marking "Near and Far post"
4 Players "Back"
1 Player "Edge of Area"
Attacking Set-pieces is anyone's flavour.
Enjoy it
