The Juventus board have today confirmed the appointment of legendary striker Alessandro Del Piero as the clubs new manager, following the departure of Antonio Conte. The appointment left many journalists confused as Del Piero(39) has no managing experience.
Juventus Managing Director Giuseppe Marotta explained the reasoning behind the appointment:
"Listen, Alessandro spent many many years at this club, succesful years winning the Serie A 6 times, Uefa Cl and Europa League amongst many other trophies and personal achievements. He knows this club inside out, he knows what the club is all about and it should be achieving. We believe he can relive some of those glory nights as a manager and he has the full backing of the board."
