On the 28th of June, Brian Clough handed a written resignation to Derby chairman, Andrew Appleby.

Derby chairman didnt waste any time, in just 48 hours, he found the "perfect" replacement.

Unknown manager, Jake Turner was appointed as Derby County's new manager.

' I feel superb, honoured & determined to answer my critics and bring Derby county success but more importantly, to take them back where they belong, the Premier League. I believe i can build a strong understanding and a good relationship with the players in the next month before the Championship gets underway. '
