Guys,

Im playing a 4-4-2 with attacking wingers as inside forwards. First season went ok, and I thought 2nd seson would be my year but no luck. I have treid tweaking my tactic but its no good, I am currently 9th after 17 games 14 points off top. I always get beat by the big team, trash the low end teams and drw amybe win against mid table teams. I currently play:

Akinfeev
Rafeal-Evans-Vidic-Evra
Valencia-Fletcher-Pastore-Nani
Rooney-Chicharito

Rest of my squad:

Van Der Sar
Brown
Ferdinand
Smalling
Fabio
Sissoko
Anderson
Gibson
Jefferen
Obertan
Canales
Moses
Berbatov
Macheda

I like to play wingers, should I play Rooney on his own and bring another midfielder in or change tactic completly. Please advise??????/

what roles/ instructions do you use? a 4-4-2 should suit that team. however a 4-5-1 would be equally suitable IMO.

Akinfeev - Goalkeeper defend
Rafael - Full back support
Evra - Full back support
Vidic - Central defender stopper
Evans - Central defender cover
Pastore - Advanced playmaker attack
Fletcher - Box to box midfielder support
Valencia - Inside forward attack
Nani - Inside forward attack
Rooney - Complete forward support
Chicharito - Poacher attack

Team Instructions:
Balanced
Standard

Passing style - Default
Creative Freedom - More expressive
Closing down - Stand off more
Tacking - Default
Marking - Zonal
Crossing - Drill crosses
Roaming - Stick to position

Primary playmaker - Pastore
Primary targetman - Rooney
Targetman supply - To feet

Defensive line - Up till the point when it changes from normal to push up
Width - Just before narrow
Tempo - Just before slow
Play offside - Yes

P/S : Remember making some minor tweaks on the individual player instructions to suit their stats (e.g. set Fletcher's long shot frequency to rarely)

I won everything possible for my Man Utd using this tactic. Hope I helped.

4-4-2 with wingers and make valencia and nanni them but play with a centre mid tht likes to attack and 1 tht likes to defend and make ur back line sit back

DR/DL - Fullback (Automatic)
CB - Central Defender Vidic (cover) Evans (Defend)
CM - Box to Box (support) Fletcher with roaming
CM - Advanced Playmaker (Attack)
AMR/AML - Inside Forward (Attack)
ST - Chicharito (Poacher attack) Rooney (complete forward attack)

My team plays well and always has 60% plus of the ball but a prime example for you was my home game against Wolves.

Man Utd 0-1 Wolves. Halford 90mins.

I had 62% of the ball 34 shots on goal but only 9 on target. What I am saying is that I on average only get 25% of my shots on target????? Whats going on, I thought it was a bit of bad luck but its now the end of December and im concerned!!! any advise

Did you had your tempo too high? When your team is playing with a higher tempo there is a higher chance of them taking shots that doesn't hit the target.

give me about 15 minutes and ill upload my set ( different formations all based around the same agressive passing frame work)

thanks for all that guys but too late.....just lost 1-0 to Newcastle and been sacked even though I have 18 shots and they had 4 and scored form a 45 yard free kick!

wasnt meant to be...but on the up Guardiola has taken the UNITED job and Barca approched me so I am no the Barca coach :-) im gona prove the UNITED board wrong!
