Setting up set pieces can easily be a neglected part of your tactics. However, goals from dead ball situations can often be the difference between a defeat and a draw, or a draw and a win. Therefore taking the short time to set up set piece instructions can add several points across the course of a season. This can be done by selecting Set Pieces from the Tactics screen. You should select a list of several takers for each type of set piece by so that appropriate players are used when the best takers are not on the pitch. This is done by dragging player names into the panels on the right. The target area for each type of set piece can be selected on these panels by ticking Aim at, while clicking Edit Set Piece Instructions will enable you to set up player positioning. Penalty takers are selected separately on the Penalty Takers section of the Tactics screen. Guidelines on choosing set piece takers and instructions are discussed below.
