I know that anyone here who has played FM over the years is probably going to find this question dumb, but this is my first FM and I can't find many tips on how to do things. So, I've got two 5 star potential regens and another 3 4.5 star potential players, and 1 more 4 star potential regen. This is in a Manchester City save, so I assume the staff are good enough to predict the potentials of the players accurately. Anyway, I've chucked them on Quickness training because I read somewhere that training physicals before they are 18 is beneficial. Any one got any extra tips on how to make them turn out well?

Follow the "View player development screen" (Something like that under the players Training tab) and follow the advise there, you can chose specific focuses, new positions, etc. The coaches can give you good information on the recommended training regime. Off course you can decide to train specific attributes for a certain position (e.g Inside forward, so only select attributes are the focus of the Coaches)

I developed my under 18 regens by keeping them in the youth squad and improving physical attributes (such as quickness, strength, etc), then when they hit 18 or 19 they went out on loan or stayed in the reserve/under 21 squad. Once there pretty good I trained them for specific roles (such as Complete forward for a striker, or Central Defender for a.. central defender.) I've always preferred large squads (or at least a big choice of positions). I had no real first choice forward, it was always juggled between Van Persie, Cavani, Rooney and a regen on FM13. Off course things have changed in FM14 (still getting use to all these new features :D) but the principle is the same. My point is that I think you should decide what specific role you would like them in at 18, The latest regen on fm14 I just got is predicted at 4.5 stars I think and I'm hoping that he becomes a great Complete Forward but I'm improving his physical attributes first before I train him specifically for CF.

That's just how I did it.
