Diamonds in the Rough OR Use of Low Starred Players?

In a prior thread, I mentioned being a little too star-centered. I would like to be a bit more discerning than just relying on stars.

Have you found or utilized lower starred players? What do you look for specifically to use them?

I tend to ignore stars anyway. There not a real accurate account of what a player can do. A nice overview for trawling but nothing indicative.

Yes, filters are better if you are looking for a defined role.
For kids, i check the physical first, then attitude, then stats but thats just 16-17 ish
