I recognise what each cross does as drilled crosses aim for the near-post and floated crosses aim for the far-post but are there any specific player types that play to the strengths of those types of crosses? For example, if I play with a lone small fast striker (Mackail Smith), would it be to my advantage to set the crossing to drilled so he can get to the near post before anyone else and doesn't have to contend with the taller defenders at the far post if I were to set the crossing to floated? Thanks in advance!

Ye, use drilled crosses for him, as they are faster, and closer to the ground, making height less of an issue
