Difficult fixture pileup?

I often like to play saves as lower Premier League teams, like most recently, Wigan and Swansea. I've noticed every season as soon as I get into a good run of form I suddenly play against the likes of Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool etc. all in a row, normally at least three of them. With this, moral is destroyed and it takes a while to regain form.

Am I just considerably unlucky with the fixtures, or has anyone else noticed this?

You're probably just unlucky, as fixtures for each season are generated randomly.
But I guess most lower table teams have similar experiences, both in the game and in real life...

In my case, it's the cups. No matter what team I manage and what league I'm in, I always seem to get the biggest favourites in early stages of any cup I play.
I sometimes suspect SI employees' christmas bonus is dependant on knocking me out of cups...
