hi, just would like to share my frustartion and disapointment .I am sure there are loads of people out there in same place as i am ,as well as there are loads of people who would object to anything i have to say . Been playing FM since 2005 and had realy good time and loads of fun . Naturaly release of FM2014 was something i have been looking forward very much as i anticipated it to be better and more realistic than previous years product....Unfortunately i found it impossible to play ,at least to play with one team for a number of years without getting sacked .I know many people at that point would say : cos probably you aren't good manager . Posibly i am not , but in all previous versions of FM i managed to do just fine ,took some time to do my researches and eventualy got things working for me . Not the case now , the game is way too hard if you aren't an expert . Failed to find any decent tactics that would help me to establish myself at the club and gave me enough time to rebuild squad and tweak everything the way i want. Can't understand what is causing tactics to stop working or players performing at the level they been performing. Even playing lesser teams ,where to be fair my squad only needs to turn up to win the game ,i very often get beaten or draw best case scenario.Oponent players seems like they are 2-3 times more inteligent than my bunch.I know that can't use same tactics for whole season as oponents get to know it .But there are teams out there who play their style of footie day in day out and still win throphies and their oponents ,who got so many people to analyze every aspect of tactics ,can do very little about getting beated.
Think they overdone it with FM2014 .....Also pleased for all managers out there who got things going well for them.In my case think it is gonna have to be going back and apologising FM2013 ,get transfer updates and be competitive in older FM version
 
I agree with you there matey, i have played since the mid 90's and this years seems to be insanely difficult although i am sure quite a few will have done very well but i am really struggling to have fun with it thats for sure
 
Give it a try again when the next patch comes out, when they release a big Match Engine patch, that's usually when things are a bit better. I remember loads of people having the same complaints when going from FM12 to FM13.

I'd just like to say, I'm no expert, but I've managed to get a tactic that works and I can assure you when I say, that confidence/morale counts for a lot in this game.

There are a lot of people with the same complaint as you had. For me, personally, I saw it more as a challenge. After working and reworking my tactics, I seem to have one that works well for me. I've also downloaded some from this forum that I have found successful. If there is a specific area that you are having an issue with, say defending corners, post it and you'll get people helping you out.
 
Are there bugs right now? Yes. But are the match engine and game ****? No.

I agree that FM14 is much more difficult than prior versions. And I view that as a good thing. You have to really take care with your tactics to get reasonable results.

I am also hoping for improvements, but I am really enjoying 14. I think it is vastly improved in terms of reality. If you learn how to set up the tactics, you will get results.

If its the games fault for being so hard and the ME fault, why are so many people having success uploading quality tactics? Some of you need to take a look in the mirror, your simply not good enough to play this game.

There's nothing wrong with people voicing their frustrations. That's why there is a whole thread on it. This game is a lot harder than it was last year, so people are going to be frustrated. Doesn't mean they are not good enough to play the game. Maybe it means that someone who cannot dedicate several hours to their tactics is going to have a harder time.
