I'm playing a 4-4-2 diamond with attacking full-backs who are often left exposed on the counter. I'm actually not conceding a lot and have dropped a DM back to assist, which is helping, but what I am finding is an increasing number of fouls leading to yellow cards and more reds.
In my first season I was starting to get messages about foul count and after matches the press conferences would focus on the tackling, I'd also get opposition managers whining about it (which to be honest did not discourage me from sending the players out there to rough up the opponents a bit). I didn't get that many bookings though (ie, other teams are dirtier).
Second season seems to have seen a lapse in discipline with a couple of reds already. I've got team instructions with "close down more" and "Stay on Feet" set. Any ideas on how to reduce the foul count?
