Daniel Feliciano Retires!

Shockwaves were sent around the world when the most successful manager of all time, Daniel Feliciano announced his retirement from professional football with immediate effect at a press conference last night. The Portuguese wonder maker, who won the UEFA Champions League an incredible 8 times in a row, the German Bundesliga 9 times in a row and won many other competitions with the German outfit, and made them the world beaters they are today, announced he was retiring to spend more time with his family, and thinks that the year off showed him how stress free life can be.

I'm sad to see my career come to an end, but I've done everything I could have done for this club, and International management just doesn't appeal to me anymore. Wolfsburg were a big club when I joined, but they were nothing like they are now. Every team in the world fears them now, and although it isn't all down to me I believe that I was definately a factor in this clubs success. I wish this club the best in all it's future endeavours and hopefully whoever they appoint to replace me can continue this clubs success and continue their new tradition of winning trophies.

The rather young manager is only 39 years of age, but has decided he will retire now, while at the peak of his game.

I am young, but I feel that I'm at the top of my game right now and I'd rather go out on a high with the club in a great position then leave it in a ditch struggling. They are top of the league and in the next round of the Champions League. There is nothing more I can do.
Q. Do you see yourself coming back into football ever as you are still very young for a manager?
I won't say yes to that because I honestly don't know, but at the same time I will never rule out a return to football, or to this great club that is Wolfsburg!
