Do players keep their Unique IDs over the different FM versions?

I think so because logo and kit packs work over time but not what happens if someone retires if someone takes their Unique ID.

Yeah some can get retired numbers when the player does. I assume they get used again but doubt it's used the year after as people facepacks would be all over the place.
