On my FM save its saying a mate of mine born on the 24/10/1996 is 17... that makes him 18? and i obviously know he is 18. Why isnt the game registering something so basic?

The season doesn't start after his birthday. It starts before. Correct? So when that day passes, he should turn 18. Am I wrong?
