CLOUGHIE #2 GOES
In the early hours of the morning, a board meeting at Pride Park, decided the fate of the likeable manager.
Nigel Clough, son of legendary manager Brian Clough, became Derby County manager in 2009 after a very successful 11 tenure at Burton Albion, winning three promotions and making the club financially secure.
However, Clough, 46, had limited success at Derby, finishing in mid-table mediocrity in each season.
The former Nottingham Forest and Liverpool striker had this to say.
"I am disappointed that the board decided to sack me."
"I feel I have done well at this club and that I have worked my heart out to win promotion for this side, unfortunately falling towards the end."
