With Football Manager 2014 now offering Workshop support, something I am involved in heavily with other titles, I've decided to try and formulate some simple challenges to upload on there. The first one is the 'Chelsea Challenge'....
In May 2013, following accusations of corruption in his homeland, Roman Abramovich has severed all ties with Chelsea. In the month afterwards, the financial implications that followed were staggering, key sponsors removed support and Chelsea went into meltdown, unable to pay any wages at the end of that month, this resulted in a player strike....
Following intervention from UEFA, all staff at Chelsea were given the option to cancel their contract and leave the club on a free transfer, causing a never seen before transfer rush. Only a handful of senior players and staff have remained at the club and with a small transfer budget and little room for maneouvre with wages, pundits are expecting Chelsea to face a relegation battle in the coming season.
Can you take over this ailing club and rebuild on a shoestring?
