So last year I did a World Cup, using FM's draft mode, where each nation was represented by players playing IN that country - so Messi for Spain, Aguero for England, etc.

You can have a look at how it went on the FM17 Stories board.

But more importantly, I've started a new one for this year's FM. It's now very detailed - each continent has its own qualifying process, just like in real life. I've vastly expanded the number of teams in the competition as well, there's well over 200 sides now (from memory, I think there's about 10 or so nations I couldn't make a side for).

This is a link to an index of all the episodes of my tournament: https://hypo-fm.weebly.com/draft-world-cup-2018

Cheers!

My Draft World Cup qualification has been running through the year - and I am going to be running the finals alongside the actual World Cup.

This means that my update today is the opening match, which happens to be between Germany and Croatia. You can find it here: https://hypo-fm.weebly.com/draft-world-cup-2018/day-1-group-stage

I've removed the restriction that means teams have a squad value limit - this means the Spain team can have Messi, Ronaldo, Kroos, etc whilst England have Aguero, de Bruyne, Salah etc.

So there'll be an update every day for the next few weeks!
