Said this on Twitter and although Germany and Holland are definitely favourites to go through from Group B, it really could go anyway.

In my eyes, Germany are joint favourites for the competition due to their quality, strength in depth and the way they play. They thrashed Holland in a friendly just last month and were just way too good in qualifying for anyone to get anywhere near them. We [Portugal] haven't got a great record against them and I do expect us to lose to them. Maybe get a point, but the fact they're a "tournament team" which we most certainly are not takes me to the conclusion that they'll beat us.

We've got a good record vs Holland and our pace up front usually causes their defence a lot of problems. We tend to do really well against them although at the moment they are a superb team, far better than they have been in the last 8 years or so. I think we can beat them if we play to our best but it will be difficult. Can see that being a draw personally. Literally could go either way though depending on the day.

Denmark always seem to cause us problems. They beat us twice in qualifying, but we tend to perform more on the bigger stages in qualifying (but we usually struggle against bigger sides). I think we'll beat Denmark - but them finishing last in the group is far from a given. They've got great quality throughout their side and it will be tough.

I can see us getting a maximum of 7 points and a minimum of 1 point personally. Obviously 7 points means we're through which would be great as it means we play the team who progresses from Group A (which is made up of the weaker teams) and although it won't be a walkover, we stand much more of a chance than if we had to come up against Spain, Italy/Croatia, England/Sweden/France (favourites from their groups to go through, but everyone will be difficult).

Really looking forward to the tournament, not expecting miracles. Just hope the players make the country proud.

I think all the groups are up for grabs and the only team who i think dont stand a chance are ireland and denmark. I think
1: russia, poland, cech, greece
2: spain, croatia, ital, ireland
3: germany, holland, portugal, denmark
4: france, swedan, england, Ukraine

With all the points being even apart from germany and spain being ahead.

We have a good record against Italy, Crotia are not that good of late and are there for the taking. Spain meh, nothing to lose a lot to gain, lets get them back for 2002.

Personally, I'd like to see the RoI be given the chance to get one over France after what Henry did in a certain match.

Happy with that draw, can see England getting through to the Semi's, and then who knows..

Group B.. lol. Denmark to beat portugal.

Initially I thought the group looked fairly straightforward but looking it it carefully it will be a real challenge, though I still expect us to go through. We do **** against Sweden usually (that friendly win was the first in ages), Usually don't do well against France and they have some great players. Then Ukraine are the hosts and the hosts usually do better than expected. Will be tough

As would I. I would also like to play England as our guys would take it like a final imo, so it would be very close and entertaining.

Interesting group for us. Good mix that will test us on all accounts. Big Team test in france, then ta ricky good side we get complacent against in sweden, and then a test in concentration and execution against Ukraine. A group where we can take 7 or even 9 points, or equally just 1 point. Between now and then we need a coherent style and group of about 30 or so players being picked and training/playing with each other.
