I don't think there should be any problem by doing that.
there might be a possible you will find a better solution, me personally didn't manage to succeed in any other possible solutions.
My solution is:
1. change windows display's to extended monitor mode.
2. you need to unlock the task bar in windows by right clicking with the mouse on the task bar, and unlock all taskbars.
3. go in game, and change the display settings to window mode.
4. stretch the window manually.
5. have fun
i didn't' checked if it's possible to play borderless, you can try try to tweak.
there also might be a possibility it's not possible to play without borders, and this is the only solution you can make it work.
