At the end of March I made my interest known in several higher teams, one of which being Patrick Thistle who lie 7th in Scottish First division. I was offered the job and accepted. I am yet to play a match but look optimistically towards the next season. ATM though I just need to concentrate on keeping my team out of the relegation zone. I beleive I need some players to strengthen my team but I have no transfer funds. Any ideas?

April - Patrick Thistle.

Patrick Thistle 3-2 Airdrie United.
In this match I was hoping for a win or at least a good performance for my first match in charge. The Jags (Patrick Thistle) took the lead 3 times in this match. The winning goal was a thundering free kick from Alan Archibald. A contender for goal of the month. A good win for my first match in charge.

Patrick Thistle 1-1 Dunfermline.
We went into this match as slight underdogs despite being at home. We went behind in the first half but were able to level it in the second half. A decent performance from The Jags.

My first month in charge at Patrick Thistle was a good one with two good performances. I look forward to next season to possibly go for the play offs.

I have got the loan of 3 players this month. Right Back Seamus Coleman from Everton Reserves, Gavin Gunning a young Centreback and Petrucci from Manchester United. All these players are loaned out for 9 months.

I will not select a Player of the Month as I have only been in charge for 2 matches at Patrick Thistle.

Goal of the Month. Alan Archibald.
His thudering free kick from the edge of the area sealed my first win in charge of The Jags.

Partick used to be a good team quiet a few years back I'd have stayed with Eaststirlingshire but its your story i'll still follow

Yea Edward I think your right. But we'll see how things go.

......................................................................................................................................................

May.
Inverness CT 1-0 Patrick Thistle.
We went into this game as slight underdogs but I am still dissapointed to lose. Not a horrible performance, but could have been better.

Patrick Thistle 2-1 Dundee.
Again we were slight underdogs for this match but managed to get 2-0 up by 65 minutes. Unfortunatly Dundee grabbed a consolation goal on 74 minutes but werent able to get back on level terms despite long spells of control.

May wasnt too bad with an good victory against Dundee. Thats the end of the season, bring on 2010/11.

No outstanding players or goals this month so Il not give awards for giving awards sake.

We finished this season in 6th. I hope to better that next season, and may, just maybe, challenge for a place in the play offs. Who should I get to improve my squad with no money? Thanks ;)

Transfers.

Marc Kalenga.
DM.
Free Transfer.
I had tried to bring this player to East Stirlingshire but he wouldnt come. I was short of quality in that position and Marc should be good enough .

Alexander Kacaniklic.
AML
Loan from Liverpool.
This is another place where I am short of quality. Marc should be quality for my team.

James Chester.
DC
Free Transfer from Manchester United.
This was one of the reminances of the previous regime at the club. Personally I am very pleased to have this player. At only 21 years of age he is the best centre back in the squad.

Ciro Immobile.
ST.
Loan from Juventus.
Ciro is much much better than my other strikers and I hope he can score loads this season. This would seriously help our run for promotion.

Ally Love.
DL.
Loan from St Mirren.
I lack quality in DL so Love was the perfect signing. I had tried to sign McEveley but he rejected us for Bohemians.

I think that should round up any signings for this time round. Do you think I was right to go for loans or should I have tried to sign on proper contracts. Remember I have no money.

Sir Alex Ferguson Expects Big Things.

Hello Alex.
Good afternoon.

This will be your first full season in charge of The Jags Mr Ferguson. After your 4 matches in charge last season, how do you see things going?
Well what I saw of last season I firmly beleive this club has a chance of promotion, given the right signings of course.

Of your signings who do you think will make the biggest impact on your season?
I think James Chester can help us alot, I also beleive Petrucci and Immobile can work wonders going forward. Aside from that, I expect everyone at the club to work hard and put in a good performance. For this club to progress it will take alot of effort from EVERYONE. Not just 3 or 4 players.

Are you looking into any more signings Alex?
No I don't think we need too many more people. I think we are strong enough in most areas of the squad, but if I see someone that would strengthen us immencly I will look into signing them.

So Alex, in summary, where do you see your club finishing the season.
I would like to think, come May time we would be challenging for at least the play offs.

And how do you think you would fair in the play offs?
They would be undoubtedly difficult, but if the team pulls together and works their ***** off we would have a chance of getting through them. We'll see how things go.

Well Thankyou and goodluck for the coming season Sir Alex.
Thankyou very much.

July.

Anaan 4-3 Patrick Thistle. (Challenge Cup First Round.)
We went into this game against third division out fit Anaan expecting to knock a few goals past them. The goals flowed in the first half as we went into the break 3-2 up. The second half was a different story however as Anaan turned the game on its head to win 3-4. Very dissapointing as we were expected to be amongst the front runners for the competition.

Anaan 0-2 Patrick Thistle. (Scottish League Cup 1st Round.)
We are easy favourites for this match but that means nothing as we have seen in the Challenge Cup vs Anaan. I hope The Jags can set the record straight in this match.
Immobile put us into the lead on 56 minutes. The ref grants our claims for a foul in the box and points to the spot. Steve Lovell duly steps up and finishes it off. Not a great performance, but its always good to get a win and set the record straight. Shame we couldn't have recorded this result last time out.

July Player of the Month: David Petrucci.
The loanee turned out two great performances during the month, setting up a good amount of chances.

No goal of the month as there was no great goals to award.

As well as your doing, I must say (going by the title of the story) you should have gave East Stirlingshire a better go...

And KingEric, I had planned to go for a longer time at East Stirlingshire, But the offer of a bigger club was too much to refuse. I had regretted the move just after, but now Im happy enough.

Emm, Is there any way to change the title? Cus as you say KingEric, I'd rather have a more accurate title.

August.

Patrick Thistle _-_ Dunfermline.
We go into this match as slight favourites due to home advantage. It will take a strong showing however to see off the threat of Dunfermline.
Dunfermline started well by converting a corner to a goal within the first 6 minutes. Immobile then played a beautiful flick on for Buchanan to score. On 33 minutes Bechanan secured a brace to put us into the lead. Up till half time the scores remained the same. In the second half Dunfermline leveled it. The match ended level. Not a bad game but I would have liked to start the league campaign with a win.

Patrick Thistle 1-2 Ross County.
We go into another tight encounter as slight favourites owing to home advantage. I hope to record our first league win of the season.
A boring first half leads us into the break on level terms. The second half however begins horribly has Ross County take the lead. Jag's winger Cooke levels it for us 15 minutes later. Ross County took the lead 7 minutes from time to win the game.

Stirling Albion 1-0 Patrick Thistle.
We are again slight favourites despite playing away from home. I hope we can record our first win of the campaign.
In what was a horrible performance we lose to the newbies. Things have to change.

Patrick Thistle 2-3 Inverness CT. (Scottish League Cup)
In another tight encounter I hope to see what my players can really do to stop this run of bad form.
We get to 90 minutes level at 2-2. UGGHHH! Inverness CT win in extra time.

Airdrie United 5-2 Patrick Thistle.
The Jags really need to get out of this run of horrible form. I will try a more attacking method to get some goals that we seem to lack. We got the goals this time, but unfortunatly lacked the defence. Horrible performance, horrible result. Pushing for a play off spot seems a far off dream atm. I seem to be in a nightmare.

Horrible, Horrible month. Something needs to be done about this. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE VERY, VERY, VERY WELCOME!!!

August Player of the Month: Davide Perucci.
Perucci's passes cut through opposition defence's like a hot knife through butter. Hopefully his form can spread to the rest of the team.

August Goal of the Month:Liam Buchanan.
Great teamwork won this award more than anything. Ciro Immobile flicked on a CB's punt with his head from the edge of the area. Buchanan timed his run perfectly to latch onto the ball in behind Dunfermlin's CBs.

This bad form is really dissapoiting, so I will probably not play tomorrow. I dont want to lose my patience with the save and give up.

I used my Diamond formation and Complete Dominance in my Fergie story. They worked well for me in the Scottish lower divisions

I really cant see what the problem is. Strong in most positions. No weak links and decent cover. What strategy should I use sonsidering most matches are very tight odds. (Contain.........Overload etc)

For my own tactic I used Balanced and Attacking; for Complete Dominance I used Very Fluid and Overload. Tweak the defence, like if you are conceding too many goals then drop the defensive line or change their mentality

Thanks. Il take a note of that and try what you did. Il probably get a few matches done tomorrow and will update how things are going. I should have stayed at The Shire as I see how well you did. Any opportunity to join I will be straight back. Turns out they got promotion just after I left. All down to my good work of course :D lol.

I've been following this story but just haven't commented, check out my story also. It'd mean a lot to have some nice comments as I have hardly had ANY comments :S

Ferguson Pulls off Masterfull Loan.

View attachment 32947

Today it has been announced that Partick Thistle manager, Alex Ferguson has arranged a loan deal with Inter Milan for Powerfull attacker Mattia Destro. Read the interveiw with Ferguson below.

Alex, you have pulled off what some would say is a coup for the club, even though it is only a loan deal. Is this a statement you agree with?
Well, Mattia is a top class player who will hopefully help us get out of this spell of losses. As far as it being considered a coup? I would disagree as he is young and only on loan here to gain valuble first team experience.

Where will he slot into you current squad? Will he replace Immobile or play along side him?
Probably along side him, however thats not to say the curent players on contract here wont be playing. As for how he will play, I am not willing to disclose tactics in the public domain.

Do you expect many goals from Destro this season?
I certainly hope so, thats why I got him in. We really do need our strikers to provide the goals we so desperatly lack.

Thankyou Mr Ferguson.
Anytime.

It is expected that Destro will be very pleased with Fergusons words and will be itching to get started at his new club.
