Inspired by KingEric: Follow his story http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/f81/...ast-stirlingshire-to-old-trafford-t27722.html
One of the greatest tacticians and widely regarded as one of the world's best managers after the success he has enjoyed at AS Monaco and Arsenal. He is the most successful manager in the history of Arsenal in terms of trophies and is also the club's longest-serving manager. Wenger is the only non - British manager to win the Double in England, having done so in 1998 and 2002. In 2004, he became the only manager in Premiership history to go through the entire season without defeat. Wenger has spent his career building teams that combine the accumulation of silverware with a desire to entertain and attack" and as "a purist, dedicated to individual and collective technical quality".

By emulating (fingers crossed) Wenger's managerial career i intend to try and perfect "the wenger tactic" and, when i am satisfied with it's look, and hopefully success (though this is ultimately not my priority) i will upload the tactic for anyone interested.

Phew that was longwinded, anyway here goes: I start at AS Nancy Lorraine, move on to Monaco and then Arsenal as quick as i can (NB: I have to skip japanese team Grampus as my database doesn't include the japanese league :(..)

EDIT: Having started again, i can now manage Nagoya Grampus Stolz of Japan!!!

Ooo.. another Arsene Wenger emulation. Good luck.

EDIT: BTW I recommend you download the J-League Database, I'd love it if you did his Japanese antics too.

As a Wenger fan , ill foloow it and give some feedback :)

Arsene Who?

AS Nancy Lorraine today confirmed relatively unknown former Strasbourg sweeper, turned coach, Arsene Wenger as their new manager. The man who enjoyed a limited playing career left his job as AS Cannes assistant manager to take a job he could "not stop smiling" about.

Mike i looked for but could not find the J League database before starting this story; however having read your comment i tried again, and, to my somewhat aggrevation i found it, i say this because i just beat Monaco 4-0 at home in my second game but Wenger is Wenger and i will not deter from the truth so i shall start again :(

NB no updates for four days as i'm away...

French manager Arsene Wenger has been handed a blow in his ligue 1 ambitions with a disappointing first month in charge, albeit against tough opposition. Wenger made a strange decision to take a holiday in the carribean during the time set aside for friendlies, an unpopular action for some of the fans, However the manager seemed positive enough in his monthly press conference, "There are some positives to take out of these games". Les Chardons put in a brave performance against Lyon, with Gennaro Bracigliano having a "superb game" denying the title contenders several times before conceding through a marvellous Pjanic freekick. The new manager in Nancy will be hoping for a better run of form in his second month of management.

ASNL have also offered a trial to former Arsenal, and Monaco forward Emmanuel Adebayor's brother Anthony Adebayor who, although a free agent has been in good form for Togo's U21 team. Finally, Sylvain Marveaux has signed for a fee of 70k.

ASNL crash out of the Coupe de Ligue in spectacular fashion.
Auxerre were able to complete a much needed win today to knock out fellow Ligue 1 team AS Nancy Lorraine, they needed a penalty shootout to secure their place in the next round. A Youssouf Hadji hat-trick wasn't the only talking point in the game. Auxerre went ahead midway through the first half after a clumsy challenge in the area from replacement right back Ouaddou gave Daniel Niculae the chance to score from the spot, which he duly took. ASNL were fighting the rest of the game, which untill the 90th minute was relatively unspectacular, A J Ferét corner was met by the head of Hadji who's header was the last touch of the ball before extra time. Hadji and Ferét combined again to give ASNL the lead for the first time in the match 1 minute into extra time, after conceding twice in extra time it was left for Hadji to pop up again, completing his hat-trick with another header in the 6 yard box from the corner. Penalties ensued, and Floyd Ayité missed the final penalty.

MONTHLY UPDATE:
Although no one seems to be following, here's my september update:
bbcsport_logo.jpg

ASNL 0-0 Toulouse FC
FC Lorient 0-1 ASNL
ASNL 1-1 AJ Auxerre (3-3 AET, AJ Auxerre. win 5-4 after penalties) (CL 3rd round)
ASNL 1-1 FC Sochaux Montbé

A disappointing month again for les chardons manager who finds his team 11th in Ligue 1, rising two places from the end of August. All 4 matches were very much winnable said Wenger, "poor finishing and refereeing decisions let us down" (he said in true wenger style, love him really). ASNL saw two efforts ruled out at home to sochaux with 4 players also picking up knocks, another thing wenger felt he had to complain about (;))

Looks alright so far :)

One favour/improvement, please change the font you used in the last update. It is disgusting.

SOMEONE IS FOLLOWING!! WOO! will do mate

Nagoya manager already under pressure!! Arsenal also having a disappointing season lying 9th after 8 games.. lost already to Liverpool, Hull and Man City, out of the league cup to Chelsea 1-2!!

In case anyone is following:

Very annoying result considering how well the front 3 played, an excellent freekick from N'dyaie too, my 19 year old DM!! At least i'm starting to score but as you can imagine my board isn't best pleased..

IS ANYONE FOLLOWING??? DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO MAKE A POLL HALFWAY THROUGH A THREAD??
OCTOBER UPDATE:
Man of the Month: Youssouf Hadji, the winger/striker has thrived in the system used to roate the front three throughout the game, scoring 4 goals, including two against OGC Nice, and a late, but ultimately irrelevant equaliser against UBSCO.
Disappointment: Joel Sami - gave away a penalty against OM, although i have suspicions as to whether it was one! Generally played poorly, heading has been woeful as well as positional senses going haywire.
SIGNING: ASNL have confirmed the signing of Anthony Adebayor, the 19 year old has signed free of charge, has made a couple of starts, performing fairly well, coming close to scoring two or three times and being a little unlucky!
RESULTS:
v PSG (a) 2-3 (Hadji, N'dyiae)
v OM (h) 0-5........................
v Grenoble FC (a) 1-1 (Curbelo)
v OGC Nice (h) 3-0!!! (Hadji - 2, Dia)
v UBSCO (a) 1-2 (Hadji)
:( :( :( STABLE job security
