Hello folks, I'm at it again and this time, I'm making a tactic emulating Steve McClaren's Twente. Zonal Marking did a breakdown of their team many years ago.
What has Steve McClaren been doing right? | Zonal Marking
So, judging by their analysis. Their formation is something like this
I know the guy said that the CMs do not have a holding role but in FM, you have to have some balance on tactics. So, I set the CMs as BBM and DLP(d).
As for the wingers, I pushed them back but set them to "Get Further Forward", "Cross From Byline", "Roam From Position". These intructions makes the shape of the tactic look like a 4-2-1-3
So, for the rest of the pre-seaon, I went undefeated with this tactic. The first challenge I had was a home match against Kransador and we won 3-2. You can take a look at the heat map to see where our players were.
Try it and see if it works out for you
