Yh anything can happen in five years, my best shout is either lee cattermole/jack rodwell but cattermole slightly ahead as hes better suited to a captain than rodwell.

Johnson is a decent shout, maybe needs to get a bit more experience though before becoming a captain.

As soon as Boro fans saw Cattermole play his first few games we were saying future England captain and I can still see it happening. However, captain in 5 years will probably be Rooney.

Tonge plays for Stoke now lol. I remember he was class in the season Pompey got promoted to the Prem, but after that nothing really happened for him. Hibbert, wow, that did not work out, better than Tonge though.

Aye Hibbert is a useful player for Everton don't get me wrong but he hasn't lived up to people's expectations of say . . 6 years ago.

Neil Mellor was another one on that site. Yes he looks abit like Gerrard but he isnt going to be as good as him <) .

I agree with Fletcher for next united captain definately, he's got all the qualities needed for it. That is if Rio isn't still their when it's decided.

Rooney will most likely be captain but i think because he's a striker it could go against him. Not many strikers are captains apart from the odd occasion such as Shearer, Raul or Cantona.

hibbert for me has been consistent. he is the same quality as he was a few years back when he was to be the next england rightback, it's just that every other player around him has improved and progressed with their ability, leaving hibbert behind. i don't think he has worsened as a player
