So basically i posted in the frustrations thread saying that i average just under 22 shots a games. 280 shots, 18 goals, so i was getting a tad annoyed haha.

I was then asked to create a thread in this tactics section showing my team instructions and roles including screenshots of where my chances are taken from.

So, surprisingly, here is the thread ha. Im going to show info from 3 different games, hope its not too much of a bore, any feedback is welcomed.

Here are the team instructions i am using, with my preferred starting line up:

I was using the control mentality originally but have now changed to standard.

And here are my player roles (quite a few):

And now here are the match stats from the 3 games and screenshots of where the chances were taken from.

Game 1, just about average number of shots for my team (couldn't get exact):

Anyway, there we are, my team seem to create a lot but don't convert, enjoy!

Seem to be having a fair few from outside the box, mostly from the left from IF and your striker.

Do you watch the highlights? Would be nice to get an idea of how they come along, is your team passing it about then someone just hitting a shot or are you on the attack and they just hit it when they get a sight of goal.

Try to drop 1 of your CMs into DM position, to cover your defenders. Also, you can change role of your striker to AF or Poacher. Just make him stay as forward as possible. Because i saw that your striker often shoot from outside the penalty box.

Some of your role choices leave you one dimensional

You have gone for shorter passing, which is fine in the right context, but then you have no midfield option to switch it it long when on. Also you have both your wide options coming inside and attacking the same areas as your central attacking players, and conversely your full backs dont offer enough dynamic with, everything is congested in the middle.

I would consider that Carrick becomes a DLP of some sort, Evra is given an attack duty, and kagawa a winger support role, and then watch from there. I would also consider RVP as an AF

cheers for the feedback, i have rarely used this tactic since because for the fun of it i have created 2 new ones which are doing ok for me at the mo and rotate them, will implement some of your suggestions and report back

it's a bug that needs to be fixed asap.

in my opinion it's not the players roles or tactics but it's the ME itself, for instant look at your game 1 & 2 goals location it's inside the box right at the mark of the keeper where you should be getting at least 7-8 goals in them 2 games alone.

but then look at your game 3 location, most shots are outside the box, you had less shots at goal compare to the other 2 games location and you manage to win 2-0!

Oh come on guys, didnt u watch the last 2 Roma games??? Thats normal :)

also giving players the shoot less order will cut out some of the long shots this is a must for inside forwards otherwise all they do is cut inside shoot from edge of box and it flies over even if they have decent long shots so shoot less will make them pick better spots i also use dribble more so they tend to run with it then lay it off to a player in a better position than just shoot

I made this change last night (before I read your post) having come to the conclusion that it was my IF's letting me down. Have been unable to test the affect just yet but will try and remember to report back!

Given the ME changes with the latest patch, I'm going to drop the "shoot less" instruction and see if there's much of a difference.

Prior to that patch, my long shots had dropped noticeably but hasn't affected too much the amount of shots I had or goals being scored.
