Review

A string of good results especially the win versus Inter at the Emirates. Eduardo picked up an injury to miss a week. The month saw returns from Arshavin and Vermaelen. 4th in the league and playing good football.Bartley picked up 2nd place in League 2 Player of the Month and won Young Player of the Month for Port Vale. Casey finished 3rd in Manager of the Month. Adriano missed training he is reported to not have settled in the area and considering his options. Arsenal were drawn at home to Leicster in the FA Cup 3rd Rnd. Arsenal qualified for Champions League for 1st Knockout round along with Inter with one game to spare. Cesc was the best player of the month providing assist after assist. Van Persie is the disappointment of the month, the Dutch striker cant find his form.

Review

Looking back on the season at the half way point although their has been good results and performances 6th place is not acceptable. The defence is the worst of the top 8 teams. Their has been too many losses that should of been won or drawn or draws that should of been victories. Corners have been disappointing with only 3 goals from them in 21 league games. A poor away form 5won, 2drawn and 4lost. Casey's job is under pressure as he is nowhere near the tittle challenge he aimed for and with minimum expectation of reaching the quarter finals and Barca in the 1st knockout round it could get from bad to worse. Arsenal are 10 points off the top and 6 points off the top 4. Song was the best player this month and has been consistent all season. Van Persie has been the worst although he shows glimmers of brilliance he has been so poor. Song won Goal of the Month. Van Persie has been linked with Barca again and is expected to leave after failing to impress , Eduardo has been transfer listed as he too has been very disappointing. Casey is expected to use the money to strengthen the defence.

good story so far! i had pretty much the same problems that you're having in my first arsenal season. defence was poor, conceded far too many. i'll be interested to see if you can plug the gaps :-)

Arsenal say goodbye to Van Persie

After a half a season of disappointment Van Persie and Casey relationship took a turn for the worse with lead to the departure of Van Persie. Barcelona will be delighted to signed the Dutch striker at a bargain £16.5m. Van Persie hit out after he completed his move the European champions saying he hating his spell at Arsenal under Casey. Van Persie failed to impress and couldnt seem to play to his potential under the Irishman. Casey would not react badly to Van Persie comments instead he agreed saying,

" Robin is a great player but we seem to clash as he didnt fit into how i play, i wish him all the best at Barca."

Many say this could be the sign that Casey is not the man for the job but Casey could prove his doubters wrong with some much need cash to strengthen his squad. Casey will also face more problems as Enyeama and Song are set to be unavailable during the African Cup of Nations.

My first every FM sacking had to be by the club i support :(
