Eric Abidal unavailable?

I've just signed Eric Abidal for PSG, but he has a light red "Unavailable for next match" box next to his name, but I can't find any explanation why anywhere. It's been there for the pre-season friendlies and I thought for sure I'd be able to play him in the league matches but no luck. He's been registered for the squad, not sure what to do. Any ideas?

What does it say when you click on the light red box?

It should say something there...

International duty? Injured? Yellow/Red Cards?

Nothing, it just brings me to his information screen, where there's nothing either.

Hasn't he been ill? I think he's only just returning to training now (or only just has) in real life, so that's probably why he's unavailable at the start of the game.

Yeah, he has been. Doesn't return until 1st of June next year :/ I was playing Windowed so it didn't show me that, wish I knew before I signed him. His contract will run out before he plays a game, ugh.
