Erik Lamela changed nationalities?

I just got a message telling me Lamela got injured while on Spain u21 duty. Spain? I thought he was Argentinian?
It's weird that he'd take up the chance to play for Spain when it was only at u21 level.

Seen it a couple of times in some saves.

He's eligible for both, often ends up declaring himself for Spain or just gets picked up through the youth teams so it switched him over to Spanish.
