Error: Football manager is already running

Hope someone can help me

When is try to start FM 2012 it keeps coming up with the error: football manager 2012 is already running when it clearly isnt?

When this happens, I just go into Windows Task Manager and end the fm.exe process.

That way has always worked for me, not sure if there is a better way.

Thats what i dont understand mate. I open task manager and there are no programs running?

Do you mean no programs running as in under the applications tab?
If so, there's processes next to that tab, it'll be under that.

If I'm no help I apologise lol.
