Meh important result but England are still ***** and so is Walcott. This result changes nothing

I thought Carroll was good actually, but agreed he'll prob be the one to be dropped. I'd like to keep Walcott as an impact sub, he seems to be better that way. Also a shame Gerard took the ball from The Ox's feet from Walcott's cross, would be nice to see both Arsenal wingers scoring and he did look to have a great body shape for the shot!

It's great to see the wingers running all game, although I thought Young was pretty unproductive and lost the ball a **** of a lot, though at least he kept running. The guy needs to bulk up!

Super Danny ...

Although good games for Welbeck, Carroll, Walcott. Johnson made up for poor positioning with good tackling. Gerrard and Parker were decent

Well, ****. As a neutral, insane game, and propably best tournament i've since France 98 - and that was propably best tournament - ever.

Seriously, one brilliant game after another , and most of them are incredibly close. I think only Germans can be sure of making it out of group stages.

Yeah thought carroll played well tired near end, would keep walcott as impact sub ditch young and cant wait to see roonry back for next game with welbeck!

Great impact from Walcott. Needed that win, it's put them in a good place to qualify.

Its a crazy tournament.

Terry is an issue here. Not because he is playing badly, but because under pressure, he naturally retreats to the 6 yards line where he is immense. Not a problem in a deep 4-2-3-1 ala chelsea, big ******* problem when you play a pressing 4-4-2 like today, because invites a huge amount of pressure, from which we have conceded 2 of our 3 goals. Probably his last tournie, so not an issue in the long term but needs to be thought about in this one.

I think he'll play Carroll and Rooney tbh.

Should go with Welbeck, because Ukraine will have to get forwards, leaving space behind themselves. Welbeck is much better at exploiting that space, as he is much more mobile. And we need Rooney for a 3 vs 2 in midfield, give Parker and Gerrard more protection.

Plus he's a Man Utd player?

Dont get me wrong carroll played well tonight, but will defo go with welbeck and rooney, welbeck was MOM against france imo and with rooney behind playing balls into welbeck i think that is better than rooney playing balls into carroll.

Wow once again we see just how important and great subs are in this tournament. Fabregas coming on to score a goal ( even though it didn't matter ) , Varela against Denmark,Salpingidis against Poland and now Walcott today . I can't even decide which game was better ( Portugal vs Denmark or England vs Sweden ) .

Dont worry about club colours for England, Carroll was pretty immense, but Welbeck is better at attacking space. Of course he could go left field and start Welbeck on the left as inside forward, but that's too outrageous for him. Ukraine left loads of space against France today, Welbeck and Walcott could have a field day.
