Good game from Croatia! Their defending was excellent until that goal . They were better than Spain until the goal in my opinion. It seems to be legit. How excellent was Modric tonight??? Very comfortable on the ball when he was in tight areas, showing his skills and on one occasion dribbling through 3 defenders with ease and his passing was just superb . Modric is my Man of the Match tonight . If only Rakitic had head down that ball instead , maybe it just could of been different .
 
Bilic did a great job tactically in this match IMO
shame about that miss by rakitic
best of luck to both Spain and Italy in the following matches
 
Goal for Spain was not offside although i can see how it may seem that way. Regardless, they played badly, i don't think anyone in this tournament can stop the Germans.

Also, yeah , excellent game by Croatia, they didn't deserve to lose. Scared faces of spanish fans in 2nd half were telling the whole story.

Spain looks toothless, Llorente could change that, physical presence in the box is always a plus.
 
If you remember in the World Cup 2 years ago, Spain also played really annoying, really slow, without much of attempts to score, with some bad passing, but still controlled all the games and won the tournament.
 
Thought Nordic was immense man of the match imo,unlucky Croatia Spain should still be feared but look shakey at the.back

Unlucky Croatia. Played well for the 3 games, but they should have buried there chances no doubt. I dont think spain will even go far imo. im not even that impressed by them, even if the goal game through a beauty lob by cesc.

He definitely used his left arm to control the ball. It could easily have been given if spotted. I think people were focusing more on the offside than how Iniesta controlled the ball.

watched it again, not a handball for me. Neither commentator said anything about handball.
 
Yes we should have buried our chances, but 2 obvious penalties? WTF? Even Marca's analizyst(don't know how to spell it) said that the foul on Mandžukić should have been a penalty... Iniesta used his shoulder which is allowed, but he was a fraction bit offside, not to mention Navas!
 
Goal was not offside Ramos tackle was not penalty but should of had one for foul on vedran.
 
Offside or not, quite frankly Croats should have attempted to close Iniesta and Navas down. They just stood there with their hands up, making puppy eyes to the ref. Ball got walked into the net with absolutely zero pressure from the defense.

Yeah, 95 games out of 100 it would have been a goal anyway, but you got to put pressure on the shooter and give him a chance to make a mistake.

Seems like a fraction of offside but we can argue hours about whether it was an offside or not... as for the foul on Mandžukić, with both legs on his ankle and first got the player than the ball, it should at least have been a foul on the 16 meter line and a yellow card for Ramos... Penalty for the foul on Vedran yes everyone agrees on that.

yeah, like they hadn't run for 88 minutes before the goal, they just couldn't make it again(like they did I don't know how many times before)
